
District 3-5A
The Tascosa Rebels dominated the District 3-5A golf tournament with both teams qualifying for regionals Thursday at the Ross Rogers Golf Complex.
The Tascosa Red squad shot a 36-hole score of 302-291 for a 593 to win the district title with the Tascosa Black team following in second with rounds of 306-314 for a 620 score.

Joe Bybee of the Tascosa Red team won the individual championship over the two rounds. Bybee played excellent golf shooting a 1-over-par 73 at the LakeRidge Country Club in Lubbock on Monday and then fired an even par 72 on the Mustang Course at Ross Rogers during a cold and wet Thursday to finish with a two-day total of 145. Teammate Dallas Wrestley of the Tascosa Black team was second overall one shot back of Bybee tallying rounds of 73 both days for a 146.
Rounding out the Tascosa Red team was Slayde Stevens and Derek Darnell. Both tied for third individually. Darnell won a playoff hole to grab third overall and finished his two days with a 74-75 for a 149. Stevens overcame an 80 on Monday in Lubbock to shoot an impressive 3-under-par 69 on Thursday to turn in a 149. Parker Whitney also had a top five finish placing fifth for the Tascosa Red squad with a 75-75 – 150.
Amarillo High’s Cale Bright qualified as an individual placing 10th (79-77 – 156).
The Region I-5A boys tournament is set for April 16-17 at the LakeRidge Country Club in Lubbock.

On the girls’ side, the Amarillo High Lady Sandies pulled away from the field to take the District 3-5A championship with ease last week at the Ross Rogers Golf Complex.
The Lady Sandies shot 320 in the first round and followed that with a 317 for a two-day total of 637. That was 77 strokes better than second place Lubbock-Cooper’s 36-hole performance of 371-343 – 714.
Junior Tyler Helm led the charge for the Lady Sandies. The multi-sport standout shot a 73 in her first round and then scored a 77 for a 36-hole total of 150 to win the individual district title. That was two strokes better than teammate Addi Britten, who came in second overall with a 74-78 – 152. McKenna Montoya was fourth overall for AHS. Montoya had rounds of 82 and 81 for a 163, as teammate Kylee Demero (91-81 – 172) was seventh followed by Edee Thacker (91-96 – 177) in ninth.
The Region I-5A girls’ golf tournament is set for April 14-15 at the LakeRidge Country Club in Lubbock.

District 4-4A
Randall played excellent golf over the past week to run away with another District 4-4A championship that was played in Hereford and Perryton.
The Raiders boys team left no doubt who the best was setting the tone in the first round with a stellar 283 team score in the first round and then shot a 314 on Thursday in Perryton to finish the 36-holes with a 597. Jack Lankford was incredible leading Randall over the two rounds. Lankford fired a 7-under-par 65 in his first round and then shot a 4-under par 68 during the final 18 holes for a two-day tally of 136. Freshman Madden Myers followed with his own impressive performances. Myers stood out in his opening round with a 4-under-par 66 and then gutted out a 78 on Thursday for a two-round score of 144 to get silver individually.
Borger is also headed to the regional meet after getting second overall. The Bulldogs registered scores of 311-326 for a 637. George Goldston and Kaysn Rheless paced Borger with both tying seventh individually. Both shot scores of 156 with Goldston going 83-73 and Rheless firing 74-82.
The Region I-4A boys’ tournament is set for April 16-17 at the Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock.

A pair of Canyon ISD school’s are headed to the regional tournament after superb performances during the District 4-4A golf tournament over the past week.
Canyon kept its reign on the district winning the crown once again with West Plains advancing in second place.
The Lady Eagles put together two solid rounds of 316-322 for a 36-hole round of 638. Lauren Roberson was the individual champion leading Canyon with a 74-78 for a 152. Teammate Presley Davis was second overall three strokes behind Roberson with a 73-82 – 155.
West Plains shot 333 in the first round and a 355 in the second for a 688 total. Mia Collins had the low rounds for the Lady Wolves placing third overall with a 73-89 162. Jayden Freeby followed with an 82-83 – 165 placing fourth.
Randall’s Isabella Tiejerina (183) and Borger’s Daisy Perez (187) qualified to regionals as individuals.
The Region I-4A girls’ tournament is set for April 14-15 at the Shadow Hills Golf Course in Lubbock.

District 1-3A
The Bushland golf teams made it a clean sweep during the District 1-3A tournament held at the Ross Rogers Golf Complex on Monday.
The Falcons beat out second-place Dalhart by 21 strokes with a 36-hole score of 326-322 – 648 to win the title. Jenner King played great golf for Bushland. The three-sport standout fired impressive rounds of 72-73 for a 145 to win the individual title. Teammate Tucker Berryman followed in second place (84-78 – 162). The Dalhart Golden Wolves also punched a ticket to regionals thanks to a 342-327 – 669. Pacing Dalhart was Ryder Thompson who took third overall with an 84-78 – 162.
Canadian’s Connor Cipollone (88-88 – 176) and Ashton Preston of Childress (79-97 – 176) advanced as individual qualifiers.
The Lady Falcons followed the boys lead with a 36-hole score of 358-365 – 723 to win the district title. Childress came in second to qualify for regionals with an 802.
Ava Permenter won the individual district championship thanks to a total of 86-88 – 174. Chloe Cox of Childress was fourth (97-86 – 183). McKinlee Gordon of Dalhart is headed to regional as an individual medalist shooting 94-85 – 179. Bushland’s Riley Gerber is also headed to regional off the B team as an individual with scores of 109-105 -214.
The Region I-3A girls’ championship is set for April 14-15 at the Shady Oaks Golf Course in Baird. The boys regional championship will be in the same location on April 16-17.
