Here’s a look a look at the Region I high school boys’ basketball regional semifinal playoff pairings for Monday and Tuesday across the Texas Panhandle and South Plains. There are some intriguing matchups to keep an eye on that include Tascosa taking on Birdville and Amarillo High battling Denton High. West Plains goes up against Fort Worth Southwest, Wellington faces Ropes and Texline battles Whitharral.

Regional semifinals 

Division I

Tascosa (27-6) vs. Birdville (29-5), 4 p.m. Tuesday, Vernon High School

Amarillo High (28-7) vs. Denton High (28-4), 7 p.m. Tuesday, Mabee Complex, Hardin-Simmons University, Abilene
