Miami stays hot
The Miami Lady Warriors are quietly putting together quite the season, especially through the district campaign.
On Friday night, Miami was once again dominant, taking a closer step to a District 1-1A championship by getting a dominating 49-18 win against Booker at home.
As the regular season nears an end in the next couple weeks, the Lady Warriors, who have already clinched a postseason spot, are now 18-5 overall and a perfect 6-0 in league play. The Lady Kiowas remain in third place in 1-1A at 3-3 while falling to 13-15.

Mia Calvert and Brylee Thompson helped get the job done for Miami on Friday. Calvert had a huge outing, piling up a game-high 18 points with seven of those coming in the second quarter. Thompson, a sensational freshman, chipped in 10 points.
Stratford shakes up 1-2A with win over Vega
The Stratford Lady Elks were able to pick up a big win against the Vega Lady Longhorns 42-37 on Friday night.
The victory puts the Lady Elks (14-15 overall) in the playoffs at 6-3 in District 1-2A while putting Stratford just a game back of Vega (21-7, 8-2) for second place in the league.
Junior standout Madi Braden was tough inside, posting a game-high 22 points. Teammate Josey Gonzalez added eight points. Despite the loss, Vega’s Khloe Griffitt led her team with 10 points.
FRIDAY’S TOP PERFORMERS
- Wildorado’s Jami Perkins lit up Adrian for a season-best 38 points during an 87-27 win on Friday night.
- Frenship’s Jada Jackson scored 18 of her game-high 20 points in the second half that helped propel the Lady Tigers to a thrilling 44-42 overtime win over Midland Legacy.
- Palo Duro’s Tayleeh Meander poured in 19 points during the Lady Dons thumping of Caprock, 61-18.
- Sam Grajeda of Hereford showed off her versatility by scoring nine points to go with seven boards in the Lady Whitefaces 68-39 win over Pampa.
- Kylie Cavalier of Canadian had the hot-hand against River Road during a 60-25 win. Cavalier knocked down four, 3-pointers on the way to a game-high 20 points.
- Clarendon pulled off a huge 48-29 win over Wellington on Friday night in a District 2-2A showdown. Kenidee Hayes had a big night with a team-high 17 points, followed by Kate Shaw’s 11 points.
- Farwell’s Ava Jaime hit four, 3-pointers on her way to a team-high 16 points to lead the Lady Blue to a 57-28 victory over Sudan.
- Freshman JaLea Morphis had quite the outing, scoring a game-best 28 points to help Kress knock off Springlake-Earth 61-31.
- Texline has been rolling through District 3-1A play and that continued thanks to a 79-15 win against Boys Ranch. Amarissah Johnson paced the Lady Tornadoes in that victory with 16 points.
- Sunray’s Lexi Gomez and Wynn Boatmun combined for 26 points to guide the Lady Bobcats past West Texas High 48-28. Gomez had a game-best 14 with Boatmun chipping in 12.
