Canadian completes season sweep of Bushland
The Canadian Wildcats were able to defend home court, pulling away from Bushland late in the fourth quarter for a 47-34 victory Tuesday night during a key District 1-3A matchup at the Wildcats Gym.
The Wildcats (14-6) stay atop the District 1-3A standings at 5-1, while Bushland (13-9) falls 4-2.
Riggs Pennington utilized his size, scoring 11 points to pace Canadian in the win. Freshman Gunner Brady and Jet Cervantes each played clutch roles with nine points each.

Bushland’s Kiptyn Bidegain had a game-high 14 points.
Panhandle takes season series from Wellington
Panhandle was able to complete the season sweep of Wellington in a hard-earned 47-39 win at home Tuesday night during a District 2-2A matchup.
The Panthers trailed 23-21 at the half, but were able to use a spark in the third quarter to go up 35-30 and never look back. Caden Armes registered a team-high 12 points for Panhandle with Landen Purcell adding eight.
Panhandle pushes its district record to a perfect 9-0 and are now 20-6 overall. Wellington falls to 16-8 overall and 7-2 in the league.
TUESDAY’S TOP PERFORMERS
- The Taylor boys from Valley put on quite the show during the Patriots 80-36 thumping of Spur. Kanyon Taylor was red-hot from the field, scoring a game-high 32 points, going an incredible 8-of-10 from beyond the arc. His brother, Corbin, added 29 points, and was 11-of-17 from the field, totaling 15 rebounds for a double-double.
- Hartley’s Carter Pyle lit up Adrian for a game-high 30 points in an 86-38 victory Tuesday night.
- Amarillo High was able to bounce back by going on the road and beating Lubbock Monterey 49-38 during a key District 2-5A game Tuesday. Jax Richards lifted AHS to the win, scoring a game-best 27 points.
- Tascosa stayed atop the District 2-5A standings with a huge win over Lubbock-Cooper 66-49. LaDarius Godbolt continues his push toward district MVP honors, scoring a team-high 15 points for the Rebels.
- Dalton Booth had quite the night for the Pampa Harvesters. Pampa was able to go on the road and knock off Perryton 62-45, with Booth scoring a game-high 20. Thanks to those 20 points, Booth was able to surpass 1,000 points for his career.
- Ethan Gilliam went for 20 points and 10 rebounds to lift West Plains to a big 61-46 win over rival Randall.
- Behind Jordan Webber’s 20 points, Canyon was able to hold off another upset-bid by Dumas, getting a 59-58 victory.
- Booker’s Redyn Rosales had quite the night, going off for 31 points that helped the Kiowas knock off Kelton 58-26.
- New Home continued to cruise by beating up Floydada 86-54 on Tuesday. Kwade Stewart poured in 32 points for the Leopards.
- Tyler Howard of Lefors helped the Pirates get a big 36-21 victory against Groom, finishing with 14 points.
