Sienna Cavalier, Amarillo High volleyball, Jr.

On the court: The junior outside hitter kept up her superb play that has the Amarillo High Lady Sandies off to a fantastic start to the 2023 season.

In wins over Odessa Permian and Odessa High last week, Cavalier was able to pace the Lady Sandies (26-5 overall) with a combined 22 kills with a hitting percentage of 450 percent, 18 digs, two blocks and two aces.

On the season, Cavalier is having a big year leading the team with 307 kills to go with 264 digs, 25 blocks and 21 aces.

Coach Mike Moffitt: “Sienna has been awesome for us. She’s leading the team in kills; our setters are doing a good job of feeding her the ball but it’s her work in the back row that’s really good. She is one of the hardest workers and she’s always looking to get better. She has a great attitude and has done a great job of investing into her team instead of being an individual. She brings the team closer. Sienna has really become a leader. Off the court, she’s very funny and she’s just been a great teammate. That’s all we can ask.”

Cavalier: “We’re playing great right now and we’re all meshing together on and off the court. This team has great relationships with one another outside of volleyball and I think that makes us better on the court.  I’ve really taken a step back this year and focused on team more than an individual. I am working on being a better leader and I just want us to keep on winning and make a deep playoff push.”
