On the court: The Canyon Lady Eagles are playing very good volleyball at the momentum riding the momentum of going 3-0 at the Randall showcase tournament over the weekend.

Coach Sarah Morath: “We have started of really well with a veteran team that we brought back. We finished strong in the top bracket at the Granbury and Mansfield Tournaments. We just went 3-0 at Randall and that has given this team a lot of confidence. Alainna has been on varsity the past three years and she is a totally different player than she was a sophomore and even as a junior. Her growth is remarkable. I think she struggled with confidence those past two years, but she’s worked hard on herself and knows how to be that player we need. She carries herself different now and has come such a long way.”
Bellino: “I love this team, and I love how we are playing as we get ready for district. We are a senior led team, and we have a lot of leadership. The underclassmen we have are doing a great job of stepping up and listening to the seniors and making an impact. From a year ago to now, I feel like a completely different player. I’m mentally stronger, I handle myself in a completely different manner and I don’t sweat the small things like I did.”
