From Tascosa to Borger – Big Moments and Bigger Lessons

Coach Hamrick’s career started at Tascosa High School before taking the helm at Borger.

His most memorable moments? Coaching in the State Semi-Finals at Cowboys Stadium and celebrating his first win at Borger—milestones that highlight both big stages and local pride.

On game days, he starts with an early morning lift and a heartfelt prayer for the coaches who’ve shaped his journey.

Cello Skills, Steak Dinners, and Coaching Every Detail

A hidden talent: Coach Hamrick was a pretty decent cello player in high school!

His ideal pre-game meal is a small steak, baked potato, and vegetables. If he weren’t coaching, he truly can’t see himself doing anything else.

The best advice he’s received: “Always coach, every detail, every little thing. They are all equally important!”
