Here’s a look at the Bushland Falcons heading into the 2026 football season. Press Pass Sports talked to head coach Josh Reynolds about his growth as a head coach after seven years, the expectations for Bushland each and every year and where the Falcons have improved after just five wins in 2025.
2025 resume
Head coach: Josh Reynolds, seventh year at Bushland, 54-19. Seventh year overall.
2025 Record: 10-2 overall, 1-2 in District 1-3A Division I. Class 3A Division I area finalist.
Returning starters
Offense: 8
Defense: 7
Season opener: at Seminole, 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Wigwam Stadium.
Jaxon Lawler, 6-foot-4, 270-pounds, OL-DL, Sr.
Coming off a UIL Class 3A state track and field championship in the shot put in May, Lawler carried his momentum into the summer by announcing that he has committed to continue his football career at the University of Oklahoma. The talented offensive lineman graded out at over 90 percent last season with 27 pancake blocks. Lawler also makes a hand on the defensive line with 48 tackles to go with four sacks.
Cooper Marsh, 6-foot-3, 250-pounds, OL-DL, Sr.
Complimenting Lawler and giving the Bushland Falcons much size up front is Marsh. This duo will provide major holes for the running backs to wheel through the lanes. Marsh had a very solid junior campaign, grading out at 96 percent on the offensive line that included 17 pancake blocks.
Colton Foote, 5-foot-9, 170-pounds, RB-LB, Sr.
Running through the holes provided by a massive offensive line is Foote. The speedy back became a dependable asset for head coach Josh Reynolds last season when the Falcons needed playmakers. Foote toted the rock for 725 yards and found the endzone on two separate occasions. He’s also a very steady linebacker racking up 50 tackles as a junior with two sacks.
