District 4-4A

Randall jumped out to a comfortable lead and held on the rest of the way to win 5-3 at Perryton and clinch the district’s No. 3 playoff seed.

The Raiders (17-9-1, 8-5) scored four runs in the top of the fourth for a 5-0 lead and get the cushion they needed. Kaison Benton had a two-run single and Collin Miller a two-run double to provide the scoring.

With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Perryton’s Jaxten Castanon hit a three-run home run to cut it to 5-3, but the Raiders held on.

Adam Trevino pitched six innings to earn the win for Randall, scattering five hits and striking out nine.

The West Plains Wolves just kept rolling along in the last week of the regular season, scoring all their runs in two innings against Borger on the road to coast to a 16-2 victory. 

West Plains (22-5-1, 12-1) will clinch the outright district title by beating Pampa at home Friday or if Canyon loses to Hereford.

The Wolves scored nine in the third and seventh in the fourth to attain the 10-run mercy rule and end the game in five innings. Boston Ladd started the scoring with a two-run homer, the first of two on the day, as he was 4-for-4 with four RBIs.

Jesse Flores also drove in four runs for the Wolves, who had 15 hits.

The Canyon Eagles kept their hopes of a district title alive, taking the lead in the third inning and coasting to a 9-2 victory at Pampa.

Canyon (23-4, 11-2) needs to beat Hereford on Friday to have any shot at sharing a district title.

The game was tied 1-1 until Canyon scored three runs in the top of the fifth. Colt Cruth’s RBI double gave the Eagles the lead before two more runs scored on a passed ball and a squeeze bunt.

Jacob Burris drove in three runs and had a solo homer for the Eagles.

District 3-5A

In their final home game of the season, the Tascosa Rebels made sure they still had something to play for heading into their final road game of the season.

Tascosa took the lead thanks to some erratic pitching by Lubbock Coronado in the third inning and put things away with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to win 7-3 against playoff-bound Coronado at Rebel Field. The win means the Rebels (15-10, 8-7) will head to Lubbock to face the Mustangs (18-10, 12-3) in a rematch Friday to conclude the regular season with a chance to snag the district’s fourth and final playoff spot.

A pair of wild pitches, as well as an RBI triple by Charlie McKinney, helped the Rebels take a 4-0 lead in the third. 

Coronado cut the lead to 4-3 in the top of the fifth, but the Rebels answered back with three runs to get some breathing room. Sam Adams capped the inning for Tascosa with a two-run double.

McKinney pitched four innings to earn the win for the Rebels.

A tough season continued for Palo Duro on the road, as the Dons lost 6-2 at Lubbock Monterey in their final road game of the season.

Monterey took a 5-0 lead after four innings and Palo Duro (8-19, 1-14) never really got in the game. Palo Duro’s Hunter Braddock took the loss but threw well for four innings, giving up only one earned run.

The Dons had only four hits and Jabrelyn Wilson had PD’s only RBI.

District 1-3A

There weren’t any changes in District 1-3A as Childress and Dalhart did what they were supposed to do Tuesday afternoon.

The Bobcats were able to take care of River Road getting a 13-3 victory while Dalhart outslugged Tulia for a 20-11 win.

The Golden Wolves (11-8) remain in a first-place tie with Bushland atop the district race at 8-2 heading into Friday’s regular season finale. Childress (12-10-1) stays solid in third place at 6-5.

Kevin Rios had a career day for Dalhart driving in a total of eight runs highlighted by a grand slam as he went 4-for-6. Caden Bird followed going 2-for-4 with a homer and a double to drive in three runs.

During Childress’ win against River Road, Drake Rabe was 2-for-3 driving in a pair of runs to help the Bobcats get the win while teammate Cash Hightower added an RBI double.

District 1-2A

Sunray solidified itself as the second-place team in District 1-2A by handling Sanford-Fritch 15-1 on Tuesday afternoon.

The Bobcats (10-3) are now 5-2 in district with one game remaining while the Eagles fall to 3-4 in the league.

Azriel Vargas helped an offense that piled up 14 hits going 2-for-5 with a double and four RBIs. Mason Gray was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles driving in two runs and threw five scoreless innings on the bump with nine strikeouts.

West Texas High secured a playoff spot beating Highland Park 14-3 at the Hornets Baseball Complex on Tuesday.

The Comanches (7-11) improve to 2-4 in district action. Cash Fulton feasted on Highland Park pitching going 4-for-4 that included a pair of doubles finishing the game with a pair of RBIs. Fulton also threw five innings allowing three runs with nine K’s.

In a district crossover game, Gruver blanked Booker 11-0 on Monday. The Greyhounds stay undefeated on the season at 13-0. Jett Pittman and Brock Butler combined on a no-hitter. Pittman threw five innings of no-hit ball with nine strikeouts and was 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI.

District 2-2A

The Clarendon Broncos are getting ready for the playoffs after an 11-0 shutout at Quanah on Tuesday.

Clarendon (10-10) snapped a two-game losing skid finishing District 2-2A at 7-3. Colton Caudle homered and tallied four RBIs on the day for the Broncos with teammate Klay Wilkins driving in two runs.

Wellington and Memphis was postponed due to rain during a district game Tuesday. Memphis leads 3-2 in the fourth inning. The game is set to resume if possible, Wednesday afternoon.

District 3-2A

It was another dominating afternoon for the Nazareth Swifts as they hammered Springlake-Earth 11-0 on Tuesday.

The Swifts won the 1A portion of the district championship going 6-0 and are now 14-1 overall.

Zane Schulte handcuffed the Wolverines behind five strong innings on the hill scattering two hits with eight strikeouts. Teammate Rhett Ethridge drove in two runs on the offensive side.
