Neumeier brought home the hardware with four gold medals and a silver medal while continuing to put his name in the school record books. During the field events, Neumeier leaped 46-feet-3 1/2 inches for a gold in the triple jump. He then broke his own school-record popping off a 23-feet-9 1/4-inch jump to take the gold medal stand in the long jump.

During the running events, the senior was a part of Canadian’s silver medal sprint relay team, won the gold medal in the 300-meter hurdles by clocking a 39.41 and ended the day with his fourth and final gold helping the mile relay team win with a time of 3:28.65.

Neumeier recently competed at the prestigious Texas Relays in Austin getting a silver in the long jump with a leap of 23-feet-4 3/4 inch.

Head coach Morgan Brady: “As a team we’re not deep. Every point counted for us and every guy on the team was keeping a total of what points they needed to get to win that district championship. It was a total team effort and Preston was one of those leading the way. He is having a special track year so far on top of what he’s already done. He put in the work over the summer, he had a great football season and he’s put on weight. He makes it easy as a coach because he has a tremendous work ethic, and he always wants to get better.”

Neumeier: “I think we did well, and we really wanted that district championship. We don’t have near the athletes Bushland had so we knew every point counted and everyone contributed to get that district title. I feel I’ve been able to get stronger and faster from last year. I put in a lot of work last summer, we had a great football season and I just want to keep improving to help my team and try and make it back to state.”
