Bushland blasts River Road 

The Bushland Lady Falcons continue to make it look easy through their first three district games.

On Tuesday, Bushland blasted River Road 22-1 at their brand-new Lady Falcons Softball Complex.

Bushland (17-4-1) is now a perfect 3-0 in District 1-3A and have outscored Dimmitt, Dalhart and River by a combined 80-3 in the first three league games. The Lady Wildcats fall to 1-2 in district and 13-8 overall.

Abby Howell delivered at the dish going 4-for-5 with two doubles, a triple and an RBI. Charley Spinks was 4-for-4 a homer, a double racking up four RBIs, and Kylee Jordan went 3-for-4 with a double and drove in four runs.

In the circle, Brylee Adams was her dominant self, tossing five innings allowing only two hits with 13 strikeouts.

In the other 1-3A games, Dalhart took care of Canadian 17-4. Maddison Pedraza had five RBIs to lead the Lady Wolves, and Tulia knocked off Dimmitt 11-2.

Tulia’s J’Lynn Leila was 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs. Lady Hornet pitcher Kyla Rodriguez struck out 16 hitters.

District 4-4A 

Dumas holds off Pampa 

Dumas opened up a big lead on Pampa only to see the Lady Harvesters rally back, but in the end it was the Demonettes holding on for a thrilling 13-12 win in a key District 4-4A game at Dumas on Tuesday afternoon.

The win puts Dumas (19-6) in a three-way tie for first place in 4-4A with Pampa (10-8) and West Plains (10-14-2) at 5-2 in the standings.

Dumas opened a 5-2 lead with a five-run third inning. After Pampa came back scoring three of its own in the top of the fourth to tie the game, 5-5, the Demonettes exploded once again with a seven-run bottom of the fifth to take a 12-5 lead.

But the Lady Harvesters didn’t go away. Pampa scored four runs in the sixth cutting the deficit to 12-9, Dumas added a huge insurance run in the bottom of the sixth which was key because the Lady Harvesters plated three more runs in the top of the seventh that made it 13-12 Dumas.

However, with Dumas pitcher Star Cortez was able to get Briley Danies to strikeout to end the game.

Dumas’ Cortes worked the final 3.2 inning to earn the win and was 1-for-2 at the plate with two RBIs. Vida Fierro did her part for Dumas with a monster afternoon going 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles and drove in four runs.

Despite the loss, Pampa’s Kynleigh Kirby hit three home runs on the day and finished with six RBIs.

West Plains blanks Borger

The West Plains Lady Wolves stayed hot getting another district win this time over Borger by a 6-0 count on Tuesday.

West Plains (10-14-2) pulls into a three-way tie with Pampa (10-8) and Dumas (19-6) for the District 4-4A lead at 5-2.

Jaylen Kaps was stellar in the circle throwing a complete game giving up only one hit with an impressive 18 strikeouts.

Desiree Hernandez gave the Lady Wolves all the offense they needed going 2-for-3 with a homer to finis with a pair of RBIs.

Randall rolls over Perryton 

Randall took care of business by dismantling Perryton 22-1 in a District 4-4A game on Tuesday.

The Lady Raiders were led by catcher Landri Holcomb who drilled a grand slam. Kaley Wiseman and Lauren Garcia also went deep for Randall.

Alyssa Navarrete worked two quick innings racking up three strikeouts for the win.

Randall improves to 14-13 overall and 4-3 in the league. Borger falls to 10-16 overall and 2-5.

Canyon thumps Hereford 

Canyon didn’t have any trouble on Tuesday in a 15-3 handling of Hereford during a District 4-4A matchup.

The Lady Eagles stay a game back of first place in the district at 4-3 while moving to 13-11 overall. Hereford (11-13) is now 3-4 in district.

Bayleigh Burks homered, doubled to tally two RBIs. Brenna Edwards and Maddie Hight combined for eight RBIs for Canyon.

District 3-5A

Amarillo High rolls on 

Amarillo High continues to feast on District 3-5A after blasting rival Tascosa 30-4 on Wednesday afternoon at the Lady Rebel Softball Complex.

The Lady Sandies pounded out 23 hits including nine extra base-hits. Tessia Guzman had a career day going a perfect 5-of-5 at the plate with two home runs and two doubles to finish with an eye-opening 11 RBIs.

Teammate and slugger Danae Lopez followed with a 3-for-5 day with a home run and a pair of doubles to total three RBIs, and Brylee Baker tallied five RBIs with a home run of her own.

AHS (20-6 overall) is now 3-0 in District 3-5A while the Lady Rebels (8-17) fall to 1-3. In the other district game played Monday, Plainview blanked Palo Duro 26-0.

District 1-2A

Clarendon gets big W against Sanford-Fritch

It was a huge Tuesday afternoon for Clarendon as the Lady Broncos went on the road and took care of Sanford-Fritch 8-2 during a Distict 1-2A showdown.

The victory puts the Lady Broncos right in the hunt improving to 4-1 in district and 18-3-1 overall. Sanford-Fritch (13-6) suffers its first district loss dropping to 4-1.

Kennadee Cummins was dealing in the circle holding the Lady Eagles to five hits and two runs over seven innings and racked up 12 strikeouts to get the win. Cummins also went 1-for-1 at the plate with an RBI.

Elliot Frausto helped the offense going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

West Texas High found the win column by outlasting Booker 16-12. The Lady Comanches finished the contest with 20 hits and seven extra base-hits.

Sage Lay went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. WT High (6-5-1) is now 2-3 in district. Booker falls to 2-7 overall and 0-4 in the league.

Sunray and Gruver played a doubleheader Wednesday with the Lady Bobcats getting a pair of wins.

Sunray eased past the Lady Hounds in the early matchup 24-4 followed by another lopsided victory 21-6.

The Lady Bobcats are now 4-1 in district and 9-1 overall. Gruver drops to 3-6 overall and 2-5 in the league. Ariana De La Rosa feasted on Gruver pitching in both games going a combined 6-for-10 with two homers and totaled 11 RBIs.
