H.S. Soccer roundup: Battle of Bell Street matches result in ties; Borger boys stay hot

Monday & Tuesday’s performers

The Randall and Amarillo High girls played to a 2-2 tie in a key District 3-5A matchup at Dick Bivins Stadium on Tuesday. Randall’s Callie Bessent scored in the 78th minute to force the tie at 2-2. Saizlee Carlton and Lilly Sobey each scored for the Lady Sandies.

The Amarillo High and Randall boys also had a great Battle of Bell Street clash, playing to a 1-1 tie at Dick Bivins on Tuesday. Brock Parker scored the Raiders lone goal, while Carter Neely netted the Sandies score off an assist from Luke Laminack. AHS goalie Jack Wetzel made 10 saves.

Palo Duro’s Jamie Carrillo scored a goal and made two assists to help lead the Dons past rival Caprock, 6-1, on Monday.

Brian Nava of Borger netted a goal in the 18th minute that held up as the Bulldogs stayed unbeaten in District 2-4A by beating Dumas 1-0 on Tuesday. Nava also scored a goal during Borger’s 3-1 victory against Pampa on Monday.
