After a loss to Canyon during the Randall Showcase Tournament in four sets, the Lady Patriots were able to bounce back in a quick turnaround fashion by sweeping the Lady Eagles during a non-district match on Tuesday night with scores of 25-21, 25-20, 25-14, at the Joe Lombard Gymnasium in Canyon on Friday night.
The Lady Eagles (18-6) were cooled off just a bit following a 4-0 showing at the Randall Showcase, while the Lady Patriots get back on the winning track improving to 16-6.
In this dominating effort for Liberty over Canyon, Lexie Allgood was the difference maker at the net as the powerful outside hitter slammed down 20 kills and hit the floor for seven digs. Teammate Ella Hurst was superb on defense with 10 digs and Bree Weatherly ran the offense handing out 19 assists.
Despite the loss, Canyon’s Laney Jones hammered down 14 kills and Klair Stone made 18 digs.

Randall stayed hot coming off a 4-0 weekend hosting the Randall Showcase Tournament. The Lady Raiders were able to go on the road and sink Shallowater with a 25-13, 25-10, 25-15, on Tuesday night. The victory was a special one for head coach Karli Morrison, who picked up her 400th career win over 14 seasons. Morrison, a Dalhart graduate, has previous stops as a head coach at Levelland and Lubbock-Cooper. Chloe Brown led the offense with 19 kills against the Fillies and Kambree Gonzalez provided the defense with 10 kills. The Lady Raiders are now 21-5 overall.
The Bushland Lady Falcons are soaring at the moment with another lopsided victory on Tuesday night. Bushland was able to overmatch West Plains in four-sets at home with a 23-25, 25-15, 27-25, 31-29, victory. Standout Berklee Billington was on her game slamming down 17 kills to go with 19 digs for a double-double. Teammate Charley Freeman was outstanding grabbing 34 digs and Jaida Scott went for 32 assists. Bushland moves to 22-6 overall while the Lady Wolves fall to 13-10.
In a non-district rivalry clash, Dumas got the best of Dalhart with a three-set sweep on Tuesday, 25-14, 25-13, 25-17. Head coach Ashlei Atteberry, who earned her 100th career victory over the weekend, and her team are now 14-8 on the season. Brooklyn Rose and Alang Makuei each registered 11 kills for Dumas while Gabi Holt tacked on nine digs.
It was a strong night for the Pampa Lady Harvesters, who went on the road and took down Plainview 25-18, 25-21, 25-12, on Tuesday. The Lady Harvesters (15-10) saw Madi Barton run the offense with great efficiency finishing with 25 assists. That benefited teammate Brooklyn Warren who knocked down a team-high eight kills. Karsyn Brown added seven kills with two blocks for Pampa.
Hereford hustled by Vega in three-sets, 25-15, 25-17, 25-12, on Tuesday night at home. The Lady Whitefaces are now 14-13 overall with the victory. Teagan Thomas landed eight kills and added two aces. Lilly Madrigal had a team-best 11 kills and 12 assists for a double-double.
River Road was able to get out of Tuesday with a victory by beating Wildorado, 25-14, 25-10, 25-14. Junior Gracie Froneman was great at the net with 11 kills and dished out four assists. The Lady Wildcats were able to go to 14-7 overall with the win.
As District 3-5A continues, Amarillo High continues to cruise past its competition. The Lady Sandies went on the road and manhandled Lubbock Monterey 25-14, 25-13, 25-11, on Tuesday. AHS (17-8 overall , 3-0 in district) has now won 70 straight district matches dating back to 2020. Harper Vaughan put together a double-double effort against the Lady Plainsman with 17 kills to go with 10 digs.
Tascosa was able to stay right with rival Amarillo High by getting a big win at home against Lubbock-Cooper on Tuesday night. The Lady Rebels were able to defeat the Lady Pirates in straight sets, 25-18, 25-17, 25-20. Tascosa moves to 13-12 overall but more importantly 3-0 in league play. Cooper drops to 20-6 on the year and 2-1 in district. Presley Ward ignited the Lady Rebels with 13 kills and 10 digs for a double-double.
Frenship also remained unbeaten in District 3-5A with a sweep of Lubbock Coronado, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23, on Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers are off to a great start to the season at 19-9 overall and 3-0 in district action. Ella Thane did a little bit of everything in the victory, handing out 22 assists, and served up three aces. Teammates Annslee Rangel and Campbell Wilson combined for 32 digs.
Caprock earned its first victory in District 3-5A with a sweep of crosstown rival Palo Duro on Tuesday night, 25-15, 25-20, 25-22. The Lady Longhorns saw Jesslyn Gonzalez go for 26 digs and three aces. Teammate Annabella Sena added 10 kills with seven digs. Caprock improves to 5-12 overall and 1-2 in the league.
Frenship Memorial found the win column in district for the first time getting a wild five-set win against Lubbock High, 23-25, 25-18, 25-16, 23-15, 15-12, on Tuesday. The victory pushes Memorial to 1-2 in District 3-5A and 11-15 overall. LHS slips to 1-2 in the league and 13-14. Brooklynn Davis came up clutch for the Lady Panthers the entire match dishing out 22 assists and playing great defense with 15 digs for a double-double. Teammate Mercedez Rodriguez also tallied a double-double with 28 assists and 14 digs.
