It was a busy three days of playoff and regular season volleyball across the Texas Panhandle.

Action started Thursday, as No. 3-ranked Hereford stayed red hot by sweeping disrict foe Pampa in a Class 4A regional quarterfinal matchup, 25-8, 25-18, 25-15, to advance back to the regional semifinals for a second straight year.

Hereford was led by Taytum Stow’s 12 kills, followed by Miranda Acosta’s 19 digs and Rainey Aven’s 34 assists.

Pampa ends a solid year at 16-11. The Lady Whitefaces move to 24-1 and will now meet No. 4 Decatur (25-1) in a regional semifinal showdown at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Childress. If the matchup wasn’t already good enough to begin with it gets even better. Decatur’s head coach is Catherine Foerster. Foerster, a Hereford graduate, led the Lady Whitefaces to the Class 4A state finals a year ago.

Canyon advanced back to the Class 4A regional seminfinals for a third straight year. The Lady Eagles downed Monahans in a regional quarterfinal, 25-23, 25-22, 24-26, 25-23 on Friday night.

Canyon outside hitter Raylee Bain racked up 21 kills in the victory, while teammate Sadie Boyles hit the floor for 30 digs. The Lady Eagles (17-5) move on to face No. 6-ranked Graham (27-2) at 5:30 p.m. in Childress.

Also on Friday, No. 2 Bushland in Class 3A eased past Shallowater in the regional quarterfinals 25-14, 25-10, 25-13. Senior standout Kinley Rudder had 13 kills, followed by Hallie Conklin’s 12 kills. Jaycee Adams tallied 18 digs and Taryn Schultz dished out 20 assists with four aces.

The Lady Falcons (27-2) are back in the regional semifinals and will play Henrietta (23-7) at a time and place to be determined.

The Amarillo High Lady Sandies clinched a share of the District 3-5A championship thanks to a sweep of Plainview 25-15, 25-9, 25-16 at the AHS Activity Center on Saturday afternoon.
