Avian Cruz, West Texas High, Jr. QB

The prolific dual-threat quarterback did it more with his feet than his arm leading the Comanches to a shootout 74-46 win against Gruver. Cruz shredded the Greyhounds for 372 yards rushing with six touchdowns, as well as a passing TD.

Jackson Espe, Bushland, Sr. DE

Bushland’s defense was menacing during a 38-0 blanking of Borger recording 12 total sacks. But it was Jackson Espy’s performance that stood out. The senior was flat out tenacious setting a new school record for sacks with six.

Dumas’ defense

It’s hard to highlight one player when a unit blanks a team a classification higher than they are. The Dumas defense stifled Wichita Falls High in a hard fought 7-0 win Friday. The Demons held the Coyotes to just 120 total yards and eight first downs.

Xavier Gonzalez, Hereford, Sr. RB

For the second time in three weeks Gonzalez has paved the way to a Hereford Victory. In the Whitefaces 30-14 win over Randall, the tough running senior carried it 33 times for 165 yards.

Brenen Thompson, Spearman, So. QB

The speedy sophomore maybe the best kept secret in the Texas Panhandle. Week in and week out, Thompson is becoming a focus in opponent’s game plan. Friday night against Sunray, Thompson racked up five touchdowns on 188 yards rushing.

Zach Wood, Panhandle, Jr. WR

Wood was a part of an offensive explosion for the Panthers against Childress in a 54-8 win. Wood finished the game with four catches for 133 yards and a score.

Cornelius Landers, Pampa, So. RB

Landers and the Harvesters offense was rolling during a 47-8 route of Vernon. Landers broke loose for a 90-yard touchdown, and finished the win with 138 yards on only six carries.

Carson Kirkland, Vega Sr. QB

Vega had a flat out offensive outburst lighting up the scoreboard for 73 points in a 73-24 thumping of Highland Park. Quarterback Carson Kirkland was masterful running the offense, rushing for 289 yards behind a physical line with four touchdowns.

Hesston Marshall, Wheeler, Jr. RB

Marshall and the Mustangs stampeded past Clarendon in an impressive fashion. Marshall ran wild during the 33-8 route, putting up 316 yards on 31 carries, finding the endzone four times.

Shea Jernigan, Shamrock, Jr. QB

The do-it-all Jernigan led the Irish to their first win of the year, 36-14 against Dimmitt. The junior was 7 of 10 through the air for 135 yards and three touchdowns. He ran for 165 yards and two more scores and even hauled in a 38 yard catch.
