The Texas High School football season is already at Week 4 with some great games going on Thursday and Friday night across the Texas Panhandle and South Plains. Check out how the Press Pass Sports team of Lance Lahnert, Lee Passmore, Craig Sperry and Kale Steed see things working out.

THURSDAY’S GAMES

Class 5A

Odessa Permian (2-1) at Tascosa (2-1), 7 p.m., Dick Bivins Stadium
Mojo arrives in Amarillo coming off a monster W over a very good Abilene High team. The Rebs looked so-so in the loss at Lubbock Cooper. Not sure Tascosa’s offensive prowess at this time is enough to beat Permian. … Permian 21, Tascosa 14.

Class 4A

Caprock (1-2) at Canyon (2-1), 7 p.m., Happy State Bank Stadium
A couple of former district rivals looking to develop momentum for district play clash at Happy State Bank Stadium. Caprock found some offense in beating Pampa on the road last week to get in the win column and Canyon took a step back offensively in a loss to Palo Duro. Both teams are still looking to establish a positive identity on offense after performing respectably defensively last week. Canyon has been a little more consistent in that regard, which along with home field gives the Eagles the edge. … Canyon 28, Caprock 10.
