Amarillo High sweeps Abilene Cooper

It was a wild 24 hours for Amarillo High, but the Lady Sandies did get the result they were looking for getting a two-game sweep of Abilene Cooper during the UIL Class 5A Division I bi-district round at Lubbock-Cooper.

Due to severe weather and heavy rains, the Lady Sandies weren’t able to play Abilene Cooper until 11 p.m. Friday night and didn’t finish until 1 a.m. Saturday morning. The waiting game didn’t hurt the Lady Sandies as they got a 2-1 win against the Lady Cougars.

Not 24 hours later, AHS took the field once again Saturday afternoon and were able to complete the sweep downing Cooper 4-1.
