Borger stuns Randall in 3-4A matchup
Borger caught major attention by getting one of the bigger wins across the state this past week with a thrilling 3-2 win against UIL Class 4A defending state champion, Randall, on Thursday at Bulldogs Stadium.
Randall struck first, with Brooklyn Alstead finding the net just eight minutes into the contest, to grab an early 1-0 lead. The advantage didn’t last long though, just 46 seconds later to be exact with Riley Lumpkin answering for Borger, tying the match at 1-1.

The Lady Raiders regained control late in the first half, when Kyndal McClain found the back of the net, scoring with 5:20 remaining in the first half, sending Randall into the break with a 2-1 advantage.
Borger responded in the second half, just 12:30 minutes in, when Hadley Reid curled in a corner kick, for an Olympico, her second of the season, to even the score at 2-2.
With 24:30 remaining, Lumpkin finished a header, to put Borger ahead 3–2, giving the Lady Bulldogs their first lead of the match—a lead they’d never relinquish.
The win moves Borger to 6-1-2 overall and 2-1 in district play. Randall falls to 6-3-2 overall and 2-1 in district action.

Tascosa blanks Amarillo High
Dick Bivins Stadium served as the backdrop for a crosstown district matchup Saturday, between Tascosa and Amarillo High, with the Rebels edging the Sandies 1-0 in a tightly contested match.
The game carried early-season importance for Tascosa, as it worked to stay within reach of the playoff picture. Defense dictated the flow throughout, and the lone goal came in the first half, when Charlie Whittenburg converted a penalty kick putting Tascosa up 1-0.
Tascosa made the goal stand with a steady defensive effort the rest of the way.
The victory moves Tascosa to 3-5-2 overall and 2-2-1 in district play, placing the Rebels fifth and within striking distance of the fourth and final playoff spot. Amarillo High slips to 3-2 in district and 5-4-1 overall, leaving the Sandies third in the district standings.
