TUESDAY’S QUICK HITS

Randall edges Canyon in 4-4A clash

Following a tough non-district schedule, the Randall Raiders are starting to play their best basketball at the right time. Randall was able to pick up a huge win at home by edging arch-rival Canyon 63-61 at the Leslie Broadhurst Gymnasium at Randall High School on Tuesday.

The win propels the Raiders to 2-0 in District 4-4A and 5-16 overall. The Eagles slip to 1-1 in the league and 16-5 on the season.

Canyon led 24-9 after the first quarter, only to see Randall chip away by only trailing 35-28 at the break. The Raiders had cut the margin to 49-44 at the end of three, before making the comeback complete thanks to outscoring the Eagles 19-12 in the final eight minutes to get the victory.
