Randall edges Canyon in 4-4A clash
Following a tough non-district schedule, the Randall Raiders are starting to play their best basketball at the right time. Randall was able to pick up a huge win at home by edging arch-rival Canyon 63-61 at the Leslie Broadhurst Gymnasium at Randall High School on Tuesday.
The win propels the Raiders to 2-0 in District 4-4A and 5-16 overall. The Eagles slip to 1-1 in the league and 16-5 on the season.
Canyon led 24-9 after the first quarter, only to see Randall chip away by only trailing 35-28 at the break. The Raiders had cut the margin to 49-44 at the end of three, before making the comeback complete thanks to outscoring the Eagles 19-12 in the final eight minutes to get the victory.

Braylon Thompson was clutch for Randall scoring a team-high 14 points. Teammate Eddie Cruz added 12 and Landon Mayo went for 11. Despite the loss, Clayton Wilcox led Canyon with 17 points.
Tascosa stuns Palo Duro
Tascosa’s LaDarius Godbolt used the energy of a packed house to light up the Palo Duro Dons in a career performance during the Rebels 65-56 win in a key District 3-5A game Tuesday.
Godbolt couldn’t be stopped dropping in an eye-popping 40 of Tascosa’s 65 points. To help chip in, Ben Kenney did tally nine points. Palo Duro’s Cuda Clayton did all he could, scoring a team-high 28.
Tascosa stays in the mix atop the league race at 4-1 while moving to 15-5 overall. The Dons drop to 4-1 in district and 15-4.

TUESDAY’S TOP PERFORMERS
Plainview’s Dominic Fulton went off for 31 points behind six 3-pointers that paced the Bulldogs in a 65-52 district win against Caprock.
Hereford didn’t have an answer for Dalton Booth, as the Pampa sharpshooter lit up the Whitefaces for 28 points during a 68-56 victory.
Gruver’s Mason Lankford has made an expected smooth transition from the gridiron to the hardwood, as the sophomore sensation posted a game-best 27 points that propelled the Greyhounds past rival Spearman, 58-27.
Caden Armes of Panhandle had it going Tuesday during the Panthers 88-49 victory over Quanah by scoring a game-high 27 points.
West Texas High’s Cayde Winters makes basketball look as easy as he did on the football field. The senior leader registered 18 points during the Comanches 52-39 victory at home against Sunray.
Shallowater’s Mikah Blackshear was a mismatch for Friona thanks to posting 22 points in a 76-27 win.
Memphis earned a solid win over Highland Park 59-39 behind Armando Saenz and his 22 points.
Abernathy continues to roll through the early portion of district play, blasting Ralls 87-9. Case Micheletti was the main catalyst in the win for the Antelopes with 23 points.
Pringle-Morse knocked off Lefors behind double-double efforts from Eric Lopez and Queston Crum. During the Cougars 57-52 win, Lopez went for 20 points and 10 boards, while Crum added 17 points with 14 rebounds.
Boys Ranch saw Ethan Paulo total a game-best 20 points during a solid 67-63 home victory for the Roughriders.
