Booker uses big second half to down Miami
The Booker Kiowas used a big second half to rally past Miami for a 51-37 victory during a District 1-1A clash at the Warriors Gym on Friday night.
The Warriors led 15-9 after the first quarter, then Booker took a 25-24 lead into the break. In the second half, the Kiowas took over, outscoring Miami 12-4 in the third quarter and then pulled away in the fourth.
Booker (10-8 overall) is now 3-2 in district, while Miami (2-16) falls to 1-4 in the league.

Korbin Vance and Redyn Rosales paced the Kiowas, combining for 32 points in the victory. Vance tallied a game-high 17 with Rosales following by scoring 15.
Hereford stuns Pampa
Hereford put a halt to a recent slump by stunning Pampa on the road with a thrilling 58-57 win during a District 4-4A game Friday night.
Pampa led 57-56 in the closing seconds, only to see Jayden Sosa come through with a game-winning buzzer beating shot for to lift the Whitefaces to the unbelievable victory.
Behind Sosa’ heroics, the Whitefaces improve to 10-19 overall and 2-7 in the league. Pampa suffers a tough loss for its playoff hopes, dropping to 5-4 in district and 19-10.
Sosa finished with nine points on the night. Teammate and senior Tristen Smith paced Hereford with 12 points.
FRIDAY’S TOP PERFORMERS
- Cuda Clayton couldn’t be stopped going for a career-high 41 points to lead the Palo Duro Dons in a 93-61 victory against Caprock.
- Senior Kaleb Castillo poured in a career-high 33 points during Fort Elliott’s 74-40 victory at Kelton on Friday night.
- Jordan Webber of Canyon piled up 16 points to help the Eagles soar past Randall 56-41. With those 16 points, Webber has now gone over 1,000 points for his career.
- Tookie Johnson and Jackson Funk combined for 37 points during Lubbock-Cooper Liberty’s impressive 76-51 trouncing of Lubbock Estacado on Friday night. Johnson had a team-high 19 with Funk adding 18.
- Behind Lincoln Krause and his 28 points, the Bushland Falcons were able to get by Childress 66-49 in a District 1-3A battle.
- Gruver’s Mason Lankford tallied 18 points to make it a season sweep of Spearman in the Battle of Hansford County as the Greyhounds defeated the Lynx 64-30.
- Kooper Walden of Stratford had a big evening with 22 points in a 70-26 win against Vega.
- Claude’s Trapper Godfrey registered a team-high 16 points during the Mustangs 45-34 win over Groom on Friday.
- Pringle-Morse picked up a big 67-63 win over Hartley on Friday night. Eric Lopez led the way with 23 points for the Cougars, which put Lopez over 1,500 points for his career.
- Texline’s Bo Bradley and Hadley Crisp combined for 49 points in the Tornadoes 92-68 victory over Boys Ranch during a District 3-1A game. Bradley had a team-best 25 with Crisp chipping in 24.
