Spearman rallies for silver medal on busy two days at UIL girls state golf tournament

The Spearman Lynxettes capped off a fantastic golf season with a furious finish to grab second place and a silver medal during the UIL Class 2A state girls’ golf tournament Monday and Tuesday at the Lions Golf Course in Austin.

Spearman, which was making their first appearance as a team in over 30 years, had already had an incredible season winning the district and regional championship but put a stamp on the year with a Tuesday rally to get on the medal stand with a two-day total of 736. Mason was the state champion dominating the tournament with a 664.
