Amarillo High grounds Canyon
Amarillo High used its recent momentum to ground the Canyon Lady Eagles getting a four-game victory, 25-20, 17-25, 25-15, 25-9, at the AHS Activity Center on Tuesday.
The Lady Sandies move to 19-4 overall with the victory.
Blair Pennington was key on offense handing out 43 assists as Bennett Rea and Bird Moffitt took care of the defense combining for 26 digs. Rea had a team-high 14 with Moffitt earning 12 digs. Claire Fansler and Harley Karrh each had 13 kills to lead the way.
Tascosa tackles Pampa
Fresh off an unbeaten performance at the Randall Tournament, the Tascosa Lady Rebels stayed hot by going on the road and beating Pampa, 25-16, 25-10, 23-25, 25-16, on Tuesday night.
Meredith Sanning continued her magnificent season passing around 48 assists and added three aces. Kassidy Langeland had a game-high 20 digs with Avelyn Ireland chipping in with 16 and Berkley Harper had a team-best 11 kills.
Tascosa takes its record to 18-4 on the year.
Randall sweeps Lubbock Coronado
Randall got back on track coming off a loss to Tascosa on Saturday by going on the road and getting a sweep of Lubbock Coronado on Tuesday night, 25-20, 25-13, 25-16.
Randall had big performances from multiple players in the victory starting with Brooke Henderson who finished with a double-double hitting the floor for 13 digs while adding 11 kills. Teammate Jordyn Gove added a double-double of her own with a game-high 20 kills and 12 digs. Setter Sidney Soria led the team with 38 assists with five digs.
The Lady Raiders move to 23-3 overall.
West Plains knocks off Caprock
West Plains kept its momentum rolling coming off a Silver Bracket championship at the Frenship Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
On Tuesday night, the Lady Wolves (23-6) were able to handle crosstown foe, Caprock, getting a three-game sweep, 25-16, 25-5, 25-16.
Piper Patterson, Addyson Simmons and Jayli Franklin made life difficult for the Lady Longhorn defense. Patterson and Simmons had a team-high 10 kills with Franklin chipping in with nine. AJ Norman had a solid outing for West Plains with five aces and eight digs while McCall Sims tallied 17 digs.
Bushland gets past Hereford
In a showcase of two of the top programs in the Texas Panhandle, the Bushland Lady Falcons were able to grab a home win over Hereford in four-games on Tuesday night.
The Lady Falcons (25-6 overall) lost the first set, 23-25, however, rallied back to win the next three, 25-14, 25-16, 25-17.
Mackenzie Sims kept up her stellar play with 28 assists followed by Ansley Tiffin who tallied a double-double with 19 assists and 12 digs. Avery Ramos played great defense with 25 kills and on the offensive end Abby Howell led Bushland with 19 kills.
Dumas splits home triangular
The Dumas Demonettes split a home triangular on Tuesday night. Dumas dropped a match to Frenship, 11-25, 25-22, 16-25, 12-25, before getting a victory against Plainview 25-9, 25-12, 25-12.
Kennedy Clements combined for 18 kills in both matches. Teammate Rylee Schacher had 7.5 blocks in the pair of games and Sophie Clements totaled 26 assists.
Dumas is now 15-16 overall on the year.
Palo Duro cans Clovis, N.M.
It was a superb Tuesday night for the Palo Duro as the Lady Dons picked up a 25-27, 25-23, 25-21, 25-23, victory over Clovis, N.M.
The night belonged to Syvihanna Sutton and Erin Mims as the duo became an unstoppable force for Clovis to handle. Sutton was stellar knocking down 17 kills to go with 25 digs for a double-double and added four blocks. Mims followed with 24 digs of her own and 15 kills for a double-double.
Palo Duro improves to 13-7-1 overall.
Miami pummels Paducah
The Miami Lady Warriors took care of business getting a non-district sweep of Paducah 25-7, 25-14, 25-8 on Tuesday night.
Miami (12-6) dominated in all phases with Mercedes Ewing and Elizabeth Thelen combining for 13 aces. Ewing had a game-high seven followed by Thelen’s six. Ewing also added 10 kills and five digs followed by Cheylee Tollison’s seven kills.
River Road beats Wildorado
The River Road Lady Wildcats played tough on their home court against Wildorado in a non-district test coming away with a 25-17, 25-21, 25-23 sweep on Tuesday night.
The victory lifts the Lady Wildcats record to 9-8 overall on the year.
Reese DeHart led the charge in the victory handing out 31 assists with nine digs and five kills. Teammate Ava Sharp added seven kills with 18 digs and Isela Delgado tallied nine kills and four blocks in the win.
Highland Park splits triangular
Highland Park made quick work of Fort Elliott with a 25-19, 25-22 win on Tuesday.
Tessica Deanda paved the way for Highland Park with 11 kills, eight digs and five assists. McKinli Bufkin put up an eye-opening eight aces.
In the night cap, San Jacinto Christian Academy defeated Highland Park 25-15, 25-15. The Lady Hornets are 8-10 overall on the season.
Borger falls at Lubbock-Cooper Liberty
It was a tough night for Borger as the Lady Bulldogs fell at home to first-year program, Lubbock-Cooper Liberty on Tuesday night, 16-25, 19-25, 25-22, 16-25.
Despite the loss, Emilee Bridges had a strong outing with 13 digs, eight blocks and six kills. Adraya Loftis went for 12 assists, nine digs with six kills and five blocks while Katie Buchanan added nine kills with three digs.
Borger is now 13-8 overall.
