District play continued for Class 6A through Class 1A on Friday also continued on Friday and Saturday. West Plains downed Dumas, Randall stayed unbeaten after beating Dumas. Dalhart downed Dimmitt in District 1-3A and Friona knocked off River Road. In Class 6A, Frenship stayed unbeaten in 2-6A with a win over San Angelo Central.
District 4-4A
The West Plains Lady Wolves took care of business by defending home court Saturday with a convincing sweep of Dumas 25-20, 25-13, 25-11, victory.
Aaniyah Kitchen played huge at the net leading the team with 10 kills and knocked down four blocks. Kynzie Ward complimented Kitchen with eight kills and three blocks. Cecilia Murillo was her typical self passing around 18 assists. Sydney Garza and Idaly Sotelo combined for 30 digs on the back row. Garza had a team-high 16 with Sotelo following with 14.

The Lady Wolves (23-10) stay a game behind Randall for first place in District 4-4A at 5-1. Dumas (16-16) drops to 3-3 in district.
Randall kept on rolling with a win at Pampa on Saturday, 25-21, 25-18, 25-17. The Lady Raiders remain unbeaten in District 4-4A at 6-0 while improving to 20-12 overall. The Lady Harvesters slip to 17-9 on the season and 3-3 in league action. Chloe Brown slammed down a team-high 17 kills followed by 11 digs for a double-double. Amber Matthews was right behind Brown with 14 kills and Kambree Gonzalez made 25 digs.
After a tough loss at Dumas on Tuesday, Canyon bounced back with a solid win against Borger 25-23, 25-17, 25-10. Neelie Henson went for 12 kills and two aces. Brylee McElroy registered 23 assists and Aiva Kerr hit the hardwood for 13 digs. Borger’s Addyson Bridges had eight kills and three blocks on the front row and Lexi Estrada added eight kills and four digs. The Lady Eagles soar to 4-2 in district and 14-14 overall. The Lady Bulldogs drop to 9-17, 0-6.
Hereford was able to pull back to .500 in league play downing Perryton 25-7, 28-26, 25-13. The Lady Whitefaces improve to 3-3 in District 4-4A and 15-14 overall. Perryton is now 7-17, 0-6. Teagan Thomas tallied a game-high 15 kills with teammate Lilly Madrigan passing out 20 assists and earning eight digs.
District 5-4A
It was a special night for Frenship Memorial head coach Whitney Gibson during the Lady Panthers sweep of Lubbock Estacado (25-20, 25-14, 25-10), on Friday.
Gibson, who had spent the previous four years as the head coach at Levelland, celebrated with her team following the victory earning her 100th career coaching win.
On top of the milestone, Memorial (20-7) stayed one game back of Lubbock-Cooper Liberty for first place of District 5-4A at 4-1. Estacado slips to 6-17 overall and 1-4 in the league. Olivia Villegas had an excellent serving night with five aces to go with eight kills for Memorial. Teammate Makenzie Ivy finished with a team-high 11 kills.
In two other district games Saturday, San Angelo Lake View beat Snyder in five-sets (25-23, 25-21, 12-25, 13-25, 17-15), and Big Spring bested Levelland in four-sets (25-19, 21-25, 25-21, 27-25).
District 3-5A
There weren’t any surprises in District 3-5A play on Friday and Saturday.
Amarillo High swept Palo Duro on Friday, 25-10, 25-5, 25-15. The Lady Sandies stay undefeated in District 3-5A at 9-0 and improve to 23-8 overall. Palo Duro (7-19) is 1-8 in district. Harper Vaughn had a double-double for the Lady Sandies knocking down 17 kills with 12 digs.
Tascosa stayed in second place with a victory against Plainview 25-18, 25-21, 25-13, on Friday. The Lady Rebels (21-9) are 8-1 in district while Plainview (12-16) drop to 3-6. Harlan Singleton had seven kills for Tascosa and Bennet Berryman made 20 digs.
Down I-27, Lubbock Coronado took care of business sweeping the season series against crosstown rival Lubbock Monterey, 25-20, 25-22, 19-25, 25-11. The Lady Mustangs push their record to 19-14 overall and 7-2 in district action. The Lady Plainsman fall to 21-12 and 4-5. Averee Willis had a career-high six kills for Coronado. Bentli Trevino tallied a career-best 14 digs.
Caprock earned its second win of district play getting by Lubbock High in four-sets Saturday, 25-20, 21-25, 25-21, 25-23. The Lady Longhorns are 2-8 in District 3-5A and 13-13 on the year. LHS is now 5-28, 1-8. Caprock’s Marlene Ramirez put on a show in the victory with 34 assists and 19 digs for a double-double. Grace Morales also had a double-double for the Lady Longhorns with 12 digs and 10 kills.
District 1-3A
There were a pair of District 1-3A matches taking place Saturday. Dalhart ventured to Dimmitt and came away with a 25-5, 25-5, 25-9, win to improve to 26-5-2 overall and 2-0 in league play. Dimmitt (1-21) is now 0-2 in district. Kammi Maddox carried on her amazing year with 20 assists and nine kills in the win for Dalhart. Teammate Kaetlin Sundvahl had a double-double getting 15 assists with 10 kills and Joie Read along with Reese Jenkins each had eight kills.
Friona won its first District 1-3A match handling River Road at home 25-21, 26-24, 25-14. The Squaws go to 1-1 in district and 17-15 on the season. The Lady Wildcats (19-8) fall to 0-1 in district. Aubree Bunker was stellar at the net pounding down 20 kills, teammate Aaliyah Padilla added 14 digs and Aimee Jiminez dished out 34 assists.
District 2-3A
Idalou and Childress had a very intense district clash Saturday with the Lady Wildcats sneaking past the Lady Bobcats, 20-25, 25-20, 25-15, 14-25, 15-6. Idalou remains undefeated in District 2-3A at 2-0 and moves to 18-12 overall. Childress falls to 1-1 in league play and 13-17. Brianna Fishback had seven kills to pace Idalou and Briley Stephens added five blocks with four kills. Ava Everage played great for Childress totaling 12 kills with four aces. Teammate Harley Carrasco did her job with 28 assists and three blocks.
Shallowater kept pace with Idalou staying unbeaten in District 2-3A sweeping Littlefield, 25-10, 25-17, 25-10. The Fillies (23-9) are tied with the Lady Wildcats at 2-0 in district action. Littlefield drops to 11-14, 0-2. Carli Buckley played big on the front row with 12 kills on 16 attacks with teammate Emma Clawson also knocking down 12 kills.
In one other district game, Lubbock Talkington defeated Tulia, 25-22, 25-21, 25-20. Talkington gets its first district win improving to 1-1 and 8-16 overall. Tulia is now 10-8, 0-2.
District 1-1A
The Fort Elliott Lady Cougars continue to march through District 1-1A this time handling Darrouzett 25-8, 25-5, 25-8, on Friday. Jaycee Sewell paced Fort Elliott with 20 assists and Ali Mahler went for eight kills and four aces. The Lady Cougars are all alone atop the league standings at 6-0 and 20-6 overall. Darrouzett drops to 3-5 overall and 2-4 in league play.
Miami is a game back of Fort Elliott and the Lady Warriors kept it that way defeating White Deer 25-11, 25-12, 25-10. Bentley Brooks was all gas and no brakes in the win passing out 13 assists with eight digs. Freshman Brylee Thompson tallied 11 assists, eight kills and eight assists. Miami improves to 13-6 and 5-1 in District 1-1A. White Deer slips to 3-19, 1-5.
Kelton won a thrilling five-set match at home surviving past Wildorado, 18-25, 25-18, 25-19, 21-25, 15-13. The Lady Lions stay in third place of District 1-1A at 4-2 and move to 11-2 overall. The Lady Mustangs (6-17) are now 3-3. Sha’Lee Dougherty put together a solid outing with 14 kills and 14 aces for a double-double. Teammate Emma Reeder handed out 29 assists with four kills.
The Shamrock Lady Irish found the win column beating Channing in three-sets 25-7, 25-8, 25-3. Addi Jernigan went for 10 aces and six assists and Ruby Baggett led Shamrock with 22 aces with four digs. The Lady Irish (10-6) move into a third place tie with Wildorado at 3-3 in district. Channing is now 0-13, 0-6.

Frenship picked up a second straight win to open District 2-6A play taking down San Angelo Central 25-21, 25-22, 25-21. The Lady Tigers are off to a great start in the league at 2-0 and 22-12 overall. Outside hitter Bliss Dane was big on the front row with 10 kills giving her over 1,000 for her outstanding career. Dane also had 11 digs for a double-double. Reese Roberts complimented Dane with 11 digs and seven kills.
San Jacinto Christian Academy suffered its first loss in TAPPS District 1-2A falling to Lubbock All Saints 16-25, 18-25, 22-25. The Lady Patriots fall to 24-5 overall and 5-1 in district. In other district games, Ascension Academy was swept by Lubbock Southcrest and Holy Cross Catholic Academy beat Plainview Classical in four-sets Thursday but fell to Midland Holy Cross on Saturday in three-sets.
