On the court: Sanchez has picked up where she left off last year with a fast start to the 2023-2024 season. Helping lead Randall to a 3-1 record at the Grandbury Tournament last weekend, the sharp-shooting Sanchez poured in 24.2 points a game including a tournament best 29 points against in a 72-62 win over Eaton.

On the season so far, Sanchez is putting up 29.3 points a night, shooting 52.3 percent from the floor and 35 percent from beyond the arc. Sanchez is also pulling down 5.8 rebounds a night and averaging 3.5 assists.

Coach Brooke Walthall: “I really love this team. We’re figuring out who we are, and the potential for us is really high. We’re growing drastically in our knowledge and so is Sadie. Sadie is not only a great player which everyone knows but she’s becoming a great leader. I’m very hard on her because I put a lot of trust into her. Her energy is so important and my expectation for Sadie is for her to be great teammate. She is doing a great job of that and that is making her an even better player.”

Sanchez: “We are playing with a lot of energy and chemistry right now. It’s a fun start to the season because we all get along and we’re having a good time together. I feel I’ve gotten better from last year because of my work in the weight room. I put in a lot of time in the weight room, and I’ve gotten faster to help change my speeds to make it tough on defenders to guard me. I just want to be able to continue to get more versatile.”
