On the court: The highly recruited Division I prospect is playing her best basketball at the right time, and is a big reason why the Frenship Lady Tigers are cruising through the UIL Class 6A Division II playoffs.

In a huge win over Southlake Carroll on Friday, Jackson showed how strong she could be in the paint with her 6-foot-2 frame. Jackson worked over the Lady Dragons during a 55-46 win in the regional quarterfinals, scoring 17 points to go with 13 rebounds. That double-double effort was Jackson’s 25th of the season.

On the year, Jackson, who is the school’s all-time leading rebounder at 1,217 career boards, is pouring in 17.9 points a night to go with 12.9 rebounds and is shooting an impressive 83 percent from the free-throw line.

Coach Trent Hilliard: “Jada is a once in a lifetime kind of athlete to coach. She works extremely hard and is very humble. She does something every game that makes our jaws drop and she can play above the rim. Jada does so many things that girls her age shouldn’t be able to do. I love that her leadership has really come on this year and the team respects her so much. She has earned that and she is one of those type of leaders that is tremendous at encouraging others.”

Jackson: “We have had a lot of growth as a team this year and you can see everyone is working hard. We all lead each other and we’re all willing to learn and listen. We have all improved in are own way, but I feel I’ve improved in my leadership. I want to make sure I’m doing things the right way and leading by example. I also want to continue to get better on the offensive end.”
