Nathan Hennington, or “Papa Henn” as his players call him, has been coaching for nine years, leading teams in football, basketball, and baseball. His coaching journey began with stops at Brady, Ballinger, and Junction before finding a home at Clarendon High School.
One of his most memorable moments came early in his career as a first-year head baseball coach, leading his team to a Bi-District championship victory against Presidio. Whether he’s strategizing against tough opponents like Wall Hawk Baseball or Brock Eagles Football, Coach Hennington’s commitment to excellence shines through.

A hidden talent that surprises many? He can play the jazz flute. His pre-game ritual involves putting on his right shoe before the left, and his favorite pre-game meal is a big plate of chicken spaghetti.
When he’s not on the field or court, you might find him doom-scrolling through Twitter (X) or listening to Nickelback in his office. For Hennington, coaching isn’t just a job—it’s a way to bring joy and structure to his teams.

As a coach, he prioritizes the well-being of his players, guided by advice he once received: “As long as you are putting the well-being of the athletes first, your decision can never be wrong.”
This season, his goal is to keep his baseball team playing through the end of the school year, pushing them to reach their full potential.
