After only one season at the helm at West Texas A&M, Brittany Harry has resigned to accept the head coaching position at Division I Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill.

Harry continued the proud tradition of Lady Buff Volleyball during her lone season in Canyon, leading WTAMU to the program’s 31st NCAA Tournament with a run to the South-Central Regional Semifinals with an overall record of 26-5.

The Lady Buffs went a perfect 16-0 in Lone Star Conference action to win their 22nd LSC Regular Season Championship for the 16th unbeaten league record in school history.

“This is a very bittersweet moment for me as I make the decision to pursue another coaching opportunity,” Harry said. “Even though my time at WT has been short, the impact that these special ladies have had on me will last forever. I was treated like family from the moment Melia and I stepped foot on the WT campus last spring and that is a true testament to how special Canyon is. Melia and I will forever be grateful for the impact Lady Buff Volleyball had on our lives.”

Harry was named the Lone Star Conference Coach of the Year for the second time as the Lady Buffs registered an incredible 19-match win-streak over a 64-day period from September 20 until November 23.

She was named the 16th head coach in Lady Buff Volleyball history in March of 2024 following four seasons leading the Texas A&M International program.

The national search for the next head coach of Lady Buff Volleyball is underway.
