Broxton Robinson, Panhandle football, Jr.

On the field: Robinson has picked where he left off last year as a sophomore and looks to even more dangerous this junior year.

Helping keep Panhandle undefeated with a 43-21 win over Dalhart last Friday, Robinson continues to show why he’s one of the top quarterbacks in the Texas Panhandle.

The dual-threat signal caller used his feet to rush for 90 yards on 26 carries with the trips to the endzone while going 10-of-17 through the air with another TD. Robinson also was in on six tackles at linebacker.

On the year, Robison is 30-of-56 passing for 712 yards with seven touchdowns and has ran for five more scores on 290 yards rushing. On the defensive side, Robinson has made a total of 21 tackles with a fumble recovery.

Coach Dane Ashley: “The game has really slowed down for Broxton. He also did a great job this summer showing up, working out, and spent a lot of time throwing the football. Defensively, it all goes through him. He calls the checks and while he’s always led by example he’s become more of a vocal leader this year. This is a group that loves to hit and be physical and he is a big part of that.”

Robinson: “I think the defense is playing great for us and that’s why we’ve been playing so well right now. Everyone loves to hit, and every player is doing their job. On offense, the game has really slowed down for me. I’m processing everything better and understanding the offense even more than I did last year. I just want to be a leader for my team and get better each week.”
