Press Pass Sports reporter Lee Baker talks with Amarillo High head football coach Chad Dunnam about the upcoming 2026 season. The Sandies are going through spring football with 18 practices.

The Sandies went 2-9 last season after having to forfeit six games due to playing an ineligible player. AHS has 12 returning starters with four on the offensive side and eight coming back on defense. The Sandies open the regular season with crosstown rival Palo Duro at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 28, at Dick Bivins Stadium.
