Paris Patterson, Randall, volleyball, Sr.

On the hardwood: Patterson has stepped her game up through the first two rounds of the UIL Class 5A playoffs.

The talented senior outside hitter racked up 11 kills with seven blocks and two blocks in a bi-district sweep of Lubbock Coronado. A few days later, Patterson torched El Paso El Dorado in an area round win with a double-double, knocking down 17 kills to go with 13 digs, adding three aces and a block.

Combined in two playoff wins, Patterson tallied 28 kills, 20 digs, three blocks and three aces.

Coach Haleigh Burns: “Paris has really stepped up when we’ve needed her to. She’s been a leader on and off the court, and we wouldn’t be where we are without her. She’s a very dependable player we always count on. She handles pressure well, and is a great spark to our team.”

Patterson: “I think we’ve been playing really well at the right time. We’ve improved a lot since the beginning of the year, and we’ve really coming together. I feel I played well last week. I’m learning how to handle pressure, and I just want to do whatever is asked from coach Burns. My goal is to do what’s best for this team whatever it is I need to do.
