THURSDAY’S GAMES
DISTRICT 2-5A DIVISION II
Lubbock-Cooper (1-8, 1-4) at Palo Duro (8-1, 5-0), 7 p.m. Dick Bivins Stadium
Palo Duro already owns the No. 1 seed in 2-5A DII. The Dons are coming off a bye week and won’t no part of a letdown heading into the playoffs. Plus, PD can run its district win streak to 12 in a row. Meanwhile, Cooper has been on a season-long struggle. Crown the Dons unbeaten district champs. … Palo Duro 42, Cooper 7.
DISTRICT 2-4A DIVISION I
Pampa (0-9, 0-4) at West Plains (5-4, 3-1), 7 p.m.
It would be hard to find two teams entering the final week of the regular season in more opposite states of mind than these two. West Plains is going to the playoffs but is uncertain of its seeding, as the Wolves could be anywhere from a first to a third seed, and they’re still smarting from their 39-21 loss to Canyon ISD rival Randall last week which ended a 20-game district winning streak. Pampa is looking for any good news, as the Harvesters are winless and are potentially staring at three straight 0-fer district seasons. Chances are West Plains treats this as a tune-up for the real games ahead. … West Plains 49, Pampa 13.
DISTRICT 3-4A DIVISION II
Levelland (6-3, 2-1) at Lubbock Estacado (8-1, 2-1), 7 p.m.
This is the game which will ultimately seed the middle two playoff seeds from the district, as the winner will be the No. 2 seed and the loser will settle for No. 3. Estacado got an open week after suffering a rout by Lubbock-Cooper Liberty which clinched the No. 1 seed for Liberty. Levelland, meanwhile, is coming off an extremely humbling 71-0 loss to Liberty last week, cementing how far Liberty is ahead of the rest of the district. What this game will cement is how far ahead of Levelland Estacado is. … Estacado 42, Levelland 16.
DISTRICT 1-2A DIVISION I
Sanford-Fritch (3-6, 1-2) at Panhandle (5-4 3-0), 7 p.m.
The Panthers close out the regular season on a four-game win streak and outright league champions. … Panhandle 55, Fritch 12.
DISTRICT 1-1A DIVISION I
Booker (5-4, 1-2) at Boys Ranch (8-0, 3-0), 7 p.m.
It would be easy for the Roughriders to look past Booker after capturing the school’s first district title but this squad is looking to make its mark in the playoffs. Look for Boys Ranch QB Isaac Acosta and company to finish off the regular season undefeated. …Boys Ranch 66, Booker 20.
DISTRICT 3-1A DIVISION I
Silverton (4-5, 0-2) at Petersburg (2-7, 0-2), 7 p.m.
This looked like a game that would have implications in deciding the district chase but both squads are just playing for pride now. Look for the Buffaloes to stampede to a win. …Petersburg 44, Silverton 34.
DISTRICT 2-1A DIVISION II
Valley (6-3, 3-1) at Guthrie (2-7, 0-4), 7:30 p.m.
The Patriots will want to take care of business then sit back and see if Motley County handles Paducah to guarantee a playoff spot. Dax Allen won’t let his troops look past the Jaguars. …Valley 54, Guthrie 6.
FRIDAY’S GAMES
CLASS 5A
DISTRICT 2-5A DIVISION I
Caprock (1-8, 0-6) vs. Amarillo High (8-1, 6-0), 7 p.m., Dick Bivins Stadium
This city rivalry first played out back in 1963. The 2026 version sees AHS playing the best ball of any team in the district getting it done on offense and defense with wins in its last two district games by a margin of 104-14. Caprock lost to both of those teams AHS beat the past two weeks. AHS claims its first unbeaten district championship since 2019 and the 49th district football title in the storied history of Amarillo’s oldest high school. … AHS 48, Caprock 7.
Tascosa (5-4, 4-2) at Frenship Memorial (2-7, 1-5), 7 p.m., Peoples Bank Stadium, Wolfforth
The Rebs lost a tight one to Abilene High last week losing out on a home playoff game. Memorial set school history last week securing g its first-ever varsity football district win. But Tascosa rebounds in a big way in this one with its Flexbone offense clicking. Next week Tascosa will pack its playoff bags for El Paso. … Tascosa 38, Memorial 14.
Lubbock High (3-6, 2-4) vs. Lubbock Monterey (3-6, 2-4), 7 p.m., Lowrey Field at Plains Capital Park, Lubbock
This is an historic Lubbock ISD rivalry playing out for the 69th time with the winner claiming the trophy – silver spurs. Both these teams are out of the playoffs so it’s time to throw the kitchen sink and then some at each other. Both are coming off stinging losses. Give Monterey the nod with QB Jonah Reed able to get the Plainsmen short and mid-range passing game being the difference. … Monterey 35, Lubbock High 14.
Frenship (5-4, 4-2) at Abilene High (6-3, 5-1) , 7 p.m., Shotwell Stadium, Abilene
Nice one here to close out both schools’ district season. Both already own playoffs berths. This one is for an interesting seed. If Abilene High wins its the No. 2 seed out of 2-5A DI and will host a bi-district game. If Tascosa does the expected and beats Frenship Memorial (2-7) and then Frenship wins by six points or more over Abilene, then Frenship is the No. 2 seed and plays bidistirct at home. Give Abilene the nod with Beal at QB and playing at home. … Abilene High 31, Frenship 24.
District 2-5A Division II
Abilene Cooper (6-3, 4-1) at Abilene Wylie (6-3, 4-1), 7 p.m., Hugh Sandifer Stadium, Abilene
Pretty simple here. Winner secures the No. 2 and hosts a playoff game with the loser falling to the No. 3 seed and on the road for bidistrict. Both teams have shown grit and bright moments during district play. Wylie seems to have a bit more firepower on offense. Should be a wild one. … Wylie 42, Cooper 38.
Wichita Falls Memorial (4-5, 2-3) vs. Wichita Falls Legacy (5-4, 2-3), 7 p.m., Memorial Stadium, Wichita Falls
Rivalry night in “The Falls” and much more riding on this one than WF bragging rights. The winner is in the playoffs as the No. 4 seed, the loser sees its season end. Legacy has produced a breakout season after winning a mere two games the combined past two seasons. Memorial has owned this series since Wichita Falls went to two high schools starting in 2024 beating up Memorial 51-21 and 63-20 last year. Legacy is hungry for the upset special but Memorial still has the edge. … Memorial 28, Legacy 24.

CLASS 4A
DISTRICT 2-4A DIVISION I
Dumas (4-5, 3-1) at Canyon (6-3, 2-2), 7 p.m.
This, on the other hand, is a matchup of playoff teams who have something to play for, at least from a seeding standpoint. Dumas can win the district title and No. 1 seed with a win, but with a loss the Demons will likely drop to a No. 4 seed. Canyon clinches no worse than a No. 3 seed with a win and will be the fourth seed with a loss. Dumas has won three straight district games with increasing offensive production while Canyon is less than a touchdown away total from being unbeaten and a No. 1 district seed. The Demons may be the “hot” team, but the Eagles are due to win a close one. … Canyon 23, Dumas 21.
Randall (8-1, 3-1) at Hereford (3-6, 1-3), 7 p.m.
Randall still has something to play for, as the Raiders could possibly still end up with the No. 1 seed with a win but could also slip to No. 4 with a loss. Hereford might be a tougher out than the record indicates, as the Whitefaces have been productive offensively all season. They’ve had a hard time stopping people, though, and Randall running back Drayden Ray is carrying his team as impressively as any offensive player in the area. That figures to be the recipe the Raiders will go with in the playoffs, the Herd will get a full dose of him here. … Randall 40, Hereford 24.
Perryton (5-4, 1-2) at Lubbock-Cooper Liberty (9-0, 3-0), 7 p.m.
Incentive wouldn’t appear to be high on the agenda for this one, as Perryton is locked in as the district’s No. 4 playoff seed and Liberty is No. 1. Perryton even knows its next opponent, as the Rangers will take on powerful Brock next week to open the postseason. The best news for Perryton is that at least Liberty will give the Rangers a taste of what to expect as things get tougher as the season progresses. It might be an even tougher test, as Liberty is undefeated, and Brock isn’t. … Liberty 48, Perryton 19.

DISTRICT 2-3A DIVISION II
Slaton (6-3, 3-0) at Idalou (9-0, 3-0), 7 p.m.
The winner gets the No. 1-seed and wins the district championship. It doesn’t look like anything is slowing down the Wildcats at the moment. … Idalou 48, Slaton 21.
Lubbock Roosevelt (2-7, 0-3) at Muleshoe (1-8, 0-3), 7 p.m.
Winner is in while the loser sees the season come to an end. … Muleshoe 48, Roosevelt 39.

DISTRICT 1-2A DIVISION I
Sunray (0-9, 0-3) at Highland Park (3-6, 1-2), 7 p.m.
Highland Park controls its playoff fate. Just beat Sunray, and the Hornets lock up the No. 3-seed. However, a Bobcat win by three points or more and things get interesting. … Highland Park 45, Sunray 27.
DISTRICT 2-2A DIVISION I
Olton (8-1, 2-1) at Hale Center (4-5, 0-3), 7 p.m.
The key for the Mustangs is to get in and out of this game healthy. … Olton 42, Hale Center 14.
Floydada (5-4, 1-2) at Tulia (6-3, 3-0), 7 p.m.
The historic season has been fun to watch for the Hornets. Tulia has locked up the No. 1-seed but Younger Field could be electric if the Hornets win their first outright district title since 1992. … Tulia 45, Floydada 20.
DISTRICT 3-2A DIVISION I
Abernathy (1-8, 1-2) at Sundown (0-9, 0-3), 7 p.m.
The Roughnecks are capable of winning but can they win by 11 points or more and get into the postseason. Give me the Roughnecks to win, but not by enough. … Sundown 26, Abernathy 20.
Post (8-1, 3-0) at New Deal (6-3, 1-2), 7 p.m.
A win for the Bold Gold Antelopes of Post and it’s an outright league title on top of already clinching the No. 1-seed. … Post 35, New Deal 15.
DISTRICT 1-2A DIVISION II
West Texas High (6-3, 2-1) at Stratford (6-2, 2-1), 7 p.m.
The Elks have been flying under the radar all season and they like it that way. Look out for Stratford in the playoffs, and expect coach Stacey Alexander’s team to be a problem. … Stratford 49, WT High 16.
Vega (4-4, 0-3) at Bovina (3-5, 0-3), 7 p.m.

White Deer (8-1, 2-1) at Claude (4-5, 2-1), 7 p.m.
Win and get in, lose and get ready for basketball. That’s what this game comes down to. Both teams love to run the football so this game will move quickly. It’s hard to imagine the Bucks may start the season 8-0 and not make the playoffs but that just might happen. …Claude 52, White Deer 44.
DISTRICT 2-1A DIVISION I
Springlake-Earth (2-7, 0-2) at Whitharral (2-7, 0-2), 7 p.m.
It’s been a disappointing season for both squads but the Panthers will be at home and have a little more talent than the Wolverines. …Whitharral 56, Springlake-Earth 36.
Whiteface (8-1, 2-0) at Nazareth (7-2, 2-0), 7 p.m.
An interesting matchup that, on paper, is decidedly in the Antelopes favor. As good as the Swifts have been playing, Whiteface is one of the top teams in the state and bolster a ton of size to deal with. This one might be close early but the Antelopes will gallop away with a district title. …Whiteface 72, Nazareth 24.
DISTRICT 3-1A DIVISION I
Kress (3-6, 2-0) at Happy (6-3, 2-0), 7 p.m.

Follett (4-5, 1-2) at McLean (5-4, 3-0), 7 p.m.

DISTRICT 2-1A DIVISION II
Paducah (7-2, 3-1) at Motley County (9-0, 4-0), 7:30 p.m.
The Dragons not only have to pull off an upset on the road but they have to do it by 24 or more points to make the playoffs. That’s asking a lot of any team but doing it against a Mike Bigham squad with Culley Lawrence in the backfield is too much for most anyone. …Motley County 60, Paducah 28.
Chillicothe (3-6, 1-3) at Crowell (4-5, 1-3), 7:30 p.m.
