Lubbock-Cooper Liberty wins second UIL state golf title in the last three years; Wildorado’s Hunter Corman wins Class 1A individual title

For the second time in three years, the Lubbock-Cooper Liberty Patriots are UIL Class 4A state champions.

The Patriots put together a strong 36-holes of golf by shooting a team score of 584 to hold off Andrews (589) by five strokes during the state golf tournament at the Legends Golf Course in Kingsland.

LCP, which opened just three years ago as a school, fired an opening round 290 on Monday followed by a 294 on Tuesday. Pacing the Patriots was Reed Blackcock, who tied for a bronze individual medal. Blackcock carding a 1-over-par 142, shooting a 69 in his first round and a 73 on the final 18 holes. Teammate Cole Barr placed eighth with a three-over-par 136 with scores of 71-75. The Lubbock-Cooper Liberty B team took sixth overall (618).
