The second round of the Texas High School volleyball playoffs have come to a close after 16 teams from the Texas Panhandle and South Plains competed on Monday and Tuesday.. Here’s a recap of how teams faired inlcuding Tascosa’s win over El Paso High, Bushland’s sweep of Denver City and Fort Elliott’s victory against Fort Davis.

Class 5A

The Tascosa Lady Rebels kept on rolling through the Class 5A Division I playoffs knocking off El Paso High in straight sets 25-15-25-15, 25-20 to claim the regional quarterfinal championship Monday at Monahans High School.

During this dominating effort, Libby Miller quarterbacked the offense by setting up her hitters with a team-high 20 assists. That benefitted Avery Scalf, who knocked down eight kill and Bennet Berryman carried the back row with 14 digs.
