Early Career, Big Moments, and Team Surprises

In just her second year of coaching, Sydney Trayler is already making memories at Borger High School.

Her most unforgettable moment so far? Being surprised with a mini birthday party by her team at a tournament—a testament to the close-knit culture she’s building.

Dumas stands out as the toughest opponent she’s faced, pushing her teams to compete at their best.

Chalk Lines, Cakes, and Competitive Drive

Coach Trayler has a playful superstition: she never steps on the chalk line on game day. Off the field, she’s a creative soul who loves decorating birthday cakes.

Her favorite pre-game meal is an Apple Pecan Salad from Wendy’s, and if she weren’t coaching, she’d be working in marketing for a sports team.

The best advice she’s received? “Raising the standard of your game starts with raising the standard of your practice.”
