Amarillo ISD athletes shine during District 3-5A track and field meet

Amarillo ISD athletes took center stage during the District 3-5A track and field meet at Plains-Capital Park at Lowrey Field in Lubbock on Wednesday and Thursday.

Making the most noise during those two days were the Amarillo High track teams which claimed both District 3-5A championships. The Lady Sandies stacked up 163 points which was 50 points better than Lubbock-Cooper’s 113. The Sandies followed suit to complete the sweep as the AHS boys team tallied 125 points to edge Lubbock-Cooper with 110.
