The UIL Class 4A Division II regional championship will be played in Amarillo between fierce rivals meeting for a third time this season.
Both Canyon Lady Eagles and the Randall Lady Raiders were able to make that happen with wins in their respective UIL regional semifinal matches Thursday and Friday.
The Lady Eagles pulled off a reverse sweep against a very good Lubbock-Cooper Liberty team to get a thrilling five-set win, 19-25, 25-27, 25-21, 25-20, 15-12, on Thursday night in Dimmitt.
That was the third victory in four meetings for the Canyon (34-7 overall) against Liberty (31-9) this season.
After falling behind 0-2, Canyon came storming back led by senior Laney Jones. The powerful outside hitter took matters into her own hands slamming down a team-high 25 kills in the match against the Lady Patriots. Neelie Henson chipped in with 11 kills and Brylee McElroy operated the offense passing out 25 assists.

Randall’s win wasn’t quite as dramatic, as the Lady Raiders (38-6) made it a sweep of Brock, 26-24, 25-23, 27-25, at the Scurry County Coliseum in Snyder.
Sophomore sensation Chloe Brown was stellar in the match for Randall going for 18 digs and 16 kills for a double-double. Teammate Amber Matthews stepped up on the front row with 11 kills and Laci Clay added 10 kills.
Canyon and Randall are now set to meet for the regional championship at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Amarillo High Activity Center. The Lady Raiders and Lady Eagles were the Co-District 4-4A champions in the regular season. Randall beat Canyon in four sets in the first meeting on Sept. 19, then Canyon repaid the favor in the second matchup, downing the Lady Raiders in four sets on Oct. 13.

The Bushland Lady Falcons are soaring back to the UIL Class 3A Division I regional championship game.
The Lady Falcons didn’t waste anytime to take care of Boyd during a regional semifinal in Vernon on Saturday getting a three-set sweep, 25-16, 25-17, 25-19, on Saturday in Vernon.
