White Deer’s Kaleb House ran for 195 yards in a win against San Jacinto Christian Academy on Thursday night at Buck Stadium.

WHITE DEER — Kaleb House put on a show Thursday night, helping White Deer celebrate Homecoming in dominant fashion as the Bucks rolled past San Jacinto Christian Academy 50-0 to remain unbeaten on the year.

The win put the Bucks at a perfect 3-0 for a second consecutive year under head coach Ruben Guerrero.

“We’ve still got a lot of things to cleanup,” Guerrero said “I’m glad for these kids and the community.”

“I feel really good,” Guerrero said. “We lost a big senior class last year and a lot of these guys got to now see some playing time and they’ve really stepped up and done a good job for us. We still have a lot of things to clean up, but I’m happy for this team and the community.”

White Deer established dominance early, using a punishing run game and forcing two turnovers on the defensive side of the ball.

House wasted very little time making his presence felt, breaking loose for a 62-yard score just two minutes into the game to give the Bucks the early advantage. House then followed it up on special teams, returning a punt 40 yards for a second touchdown as White Deer took a 14-0 lead into the second quarter.

House couldn’t be stopped in the victory, turning only eight carries into 195 yards with two touchdowns. The junior also added a punt return touchdown and also registered six tackles on defense, making a huge impact in all three phases of the game.

His 195 rushing yards on just eight attempts gave House an eye-opening 24 yards per carry. Every time House touched the ball, he provided big plays, helping the Bucks quickly establish separation from the Patriots.

“I think last year it clicked for Kaleb (House) during track season, Guerrero said. “He had some success there, and he’s said, ‘Coach, give me the ball.”

White Deer’s defense was just as dominant as its offense. The Bucks forced two fumbles, registered two tackles for loss, and broke up a pass. The balanced defensive effort saw three different players record more than five tackles as San Jacinto Struggled to generate any offense.

The second quarter was when the Bucks truly displayed just how punishing their offense is. Lucas Radina took an opening drive handoff and raced 23 yards for another White Deer score.

The Bucks continued to rack up scores from there. House added another rushing touchdown before Izaya Chavez connected with Joseph Lenz on a 22-yard scoring strike, pushing the lead to 36-0 with 4:53 remaining in the half.

Junior Maddox Bowers then found the end zone twice, scoring on runs of 16 and one yard to push the lead to 50-0 with less than a minute remaining before halftime.

With the offense finding success on the ground and through the air, the Bucks were able to distribute the production around despite House stealing the show. Radina, Chavez, Lenz, and Bowers all played crucial roles in helping White Deer build the commanding lead.

The 50-point performance also highlighted the depth White Deer has developed after losing a strong senior class from a year ago. Several players have stepped into larger roles for the Bucks, and they continue to find ways to produce through three games.

The Patriots (2-2) struggled to find an answer for the Bucks all night, but the visitors continued to compete despite their defeat.

White Deer will look remain unbeaten next week when they welcome the Miami Warriors to town. San Jacinto will look to bounce back against fellow Amarillo school PCHEA.
