Press Pass Sports talked with Canyon Eagle football coach Matt Lovorn during fall workouts. Lovorn spoke about taking over as the head coach midseason and now being in control of the program full-time. Lovorn also touched on an experienced senior class that has connected with a close-knit bond.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Brox Hacker, 6-foot-2, 180-pounds, QB, Sr.

By the end of the 2025 season, Hacker became quite the household name in the Texas Panhandle. Leading a very physical Eagles offense, the dual-threat quarterback showed his toughness throughout the year. Hacker took over the starting role early and proved his worth going 111-of-183 passing for 1,866 yards with 16 touchdowns. He also ran for 817 yards with another eight scores.

Levi Turner, 6-foot, 240-pounds, FB-LB, Sr.

Turner is a hard-nosed football player that isn’t afraid of taking a hit or laying one. Offensively, Turner can blow up a hole to make room for a loaded backfield or get yards in the trenches when needed. Defensively, Turner is superb at linebacker, finishing last year with 65 tackles, four sacks and forced a fumble.

Wesley Millican, 6-foot-3, 275-pounds, OL-DL, Sr.

A physical offense can engine without the foundation of a punishing offensive line. Millican helps provide that with his bruising style to give the running backs lanes to roll through. As one of the top returners up front for Canyon, Millican graded out at 92 percent last season and only allowed one sack.
