Tascosa head coach Carley McCracken talks about the culture being built in her second season and the team chemistry that her team has established. McCarley also talks on the expectations for Tascosa heading into the season and the gauntlet of a 10-team district.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Presley Ward, outside hitter, 5-6, Sr.

Ward is expected to be a huge cornerstone for head coach Carley McCracken’s team. On the offensive side, she gives the Lady Rebels a presence as a hitter with 296 kills last season and on the defensive side, Ward hit the floor for 185 digs a year ago.

Blaire Whatley, outside hitter, 5-10, Jr.

Whatley will see a lot more playing time this year in a much bigger role. The outside hitter did make the most of when she saw the floor last year with 72 kills in 36 sets. Coach McCarley is very impressed with Whatley’s athleticism and versatility around the net. She also is a huge compliment to Ward.

Ellen Daniel, setter, 5-6, Jr.

Daniel will look to fill a void at the setter position after being groomed on the JV as a sophomore in 2025. Head coach Carley McCracken is confident in Daniel’s ability to lead the offense and get the ball to the hitters and be a huge help on the defensive side.
