The 2026 UIL high school track and field season has come to an end with Texas Panhandle and South Plains athletes had outstanding performances last week at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin.

The Canyon Eagles won their first ever UIL Class 4A state team championship. Bushland’s Jaxon Lawler dominated the Class 3A shot put event and Caprock’s Alhosan Sheriff went from a wildcard entrant to bronze medalist in the Class 5A 110-meter hurdle event.
