West Plains controls Canyon in 4-4A clash
The West Plains Wolves continue to look like the class of District 4-4A after getting another convincing win, this time over arch-rival Canyon, 60-39, at home on Friday night.
The Wolves are now 18-4 overall and a perfect 5-0 in league play. The Eagles slip to 18-6 overall and 3-2 in district.
N. Larra and Kaden Hooker paced the Wolves, combining for 27 points. Nyko Larra finished with a game-high 14 points while Hooker followed scoring 13. Canyon’s Jordan Webber led all scorers with 16.

The Dalhart Golden Wolves made quite the statement in the District 1-3A opener with a lopsided 66-45 home win over Childress on Friday night.
The Golden Wolves are off to quite the start to the season moving to 18-2 overall and now 1-0 in league play. The Bobcats fall to 11-12 overall and 0-1.
Talon Garcia had a big night for Dalhart posting a team-high 18 points. Teamamates Zach Drew and Aaron Camacho each added 11 points.

FRIDAY’S TOP PERFORMERS
- Tascosa’s Ty Collins kept the Rebels red-hot dropping in 32 points during a 70-29 win against crosstown rival Caprock.
- Case Micheletti is playing at another level for Abernathy at the moment. Micheletti went for 33 points on Friday during the Antelopes 93-28 win against Floydada. Micheletti made 10 field goals, knocked down three, 3-pointers and was 4-of-7 from the charity stripe.
- Olton’s Sebastian Sparkman had quite the night for the Mustangs with a 29-point performance during a 62-45 win over Hale Center.
- Tulia erased a 20-point halftime deficit to beat River Road 66-61 during an overtime thriller in a District 1-3A opener. CJ Parker did all he could for the Hornets, scoring a game-high 24 points, knocking down 11 field goals.
- Kaiden Lozano of Sunray led a second half comeback as the Bobcats defeated Spearman 40-39. Lozano tallied a team-high 26 points in the win.
- New Home’s Colby Cook and Zack Armes combined for 38 points to push the Leopards past New Deal 62-52 in a District 4-2A showdown. Cook posted a game-best 20 with Armes adding 18.
- Pampa sophomore Aaron Martinez registered a game-high 20 points during a Harvester 68-46 victory against Dumas.
- Reydn Rosales of Booker had the hot-hand against Kelton by pouring in a game-high 27 points in a 69-62 victory.
- Boys Ranch beat up Wildorado 68-35 behind Jaxon Dynneson. The sophomore couldn’t be stopped posting 25 points in the win.
- Texline continues to look extremely strong as the Tornadoes blasted Pringle-Morse 93-34 on Friday. Rett Wann was the main catalyst in the victory with 27 points.
