District play continued with a full slate of games in District 3-5A, 4-4A, District 5-4A, District 1-1A along with some non-district matchups. Here’s a recap from Tuesday including Randall’s sweep of Dumas, Tascosa’s road victory at Lubbock-Cooper and Miami’s home sweep of Kelton.
District 1-1A
The Miami Lady Warriors stayed in control in first place of District 1-1A by getting a home sweep of Kelton with a convincing 25-11, 25-13, 25-11, victory at the Warriors Gym.
With the win, Miami stays perfect in league play pushing their record to 3-0 while moving to 11-5 overall. The Lady Lions suffer their first loss on the season dropping to 9-1 overall and 2-1 in district action.
It was a complete team effort for the Lady Warriors led by libero Harper Hale. Hale had a tremendous night on the defensive side getting to the floor for a team-high 19 digs. Bentley Brooks did her job quarterbacking the Miami offense handing out 19 assists which benefited the hitters with Brylee Thompson leading the team knocking down nine kills and Ava Lackey following with seven kills.

Fort Elliott was able to keep pace with Miami in District 1-1A breezing past Channing with a 25-4, 25-3, 25-0, on Tuesday. Jaycee Sewell had a career outing from the service line with a eye-popping 22 aces. Rylee Rose was also impressive with 17 aces. The Lady Cougars are tied with the Lady Warriors at 3-0 in district and are now 17-6 overall. Channing is still seeking its first win falling to 0-10, 0-3.
Shamrock put together its second straight league win knocking off White Deer in three sets, 25-13, 25-17, 25-16, on Tuesday. The Lady Irish (8-5) are right behind Miami and Fort Elliott at 2-1 in District 1-1A. The Does slip to 0-3 in district and 2-17 overall. Shamrock’s Addi Jernigan had eight digs, seven assists and five kills. Teammatae Ruby Baggett went for eight digs and seven assists and Taylor Cook had seven kills.
In one other score out of District 1-1A, Wildorado swept Darrouzett, 25-13, 25-12, 25-23. The Lady Mustangs improve to 1-2 in district and 4-16 overall. The Lady Longhorns drop to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the league.
District 3-5A
After suffering their first district loss on Saturday, the Tascosa Lady Rebels were able to bounce back by going on the road and getting a big win at Lubbock-Cooper with a, 25-21, 25-12, 25-17, sweep on Tuesday night at the Pirates Gym.
The Lady Rebels (18-9 overall) were able to stay a game back of first-place Amarillo High moving to 5-1 in District 3-5A. With the loss, the Lady Pirates fall to 4-2 in league action and 16-9 overall.
Presley Ward came up clutch for the Lady Rebels on the front row with a team-high 14 kills. Teammate Avery Scalf was key at the net as well with six kills and four blocks while Bennet Berryman played her normal outstanding defense grabbing 15 digs. Cooper’s Broox Lopez led LC dishing out 18 assists with six kills and Konli Johnston had five kills, five digs with two aces.
Amarillo High kept on rolling easing past Lubbock Monterey 25-7, 25-9, 25-14, on Tuesday. The Lady Sandies have now won 59 straight district matches dating back to 2020. AHS also stays all alone in District 3-5A at 7-0 and are 20-8 overall. Harper Vaughn was strong on the front row with 14 kills and went for 12 assists to collect a double-double. Beennett Rea paced the Lady Sandies with a game-high 23 assists and Ellen Head added 15 digs.
Lubbock Coronado stayed hot defeating Caprock at home Tuesday, 25-13, 25-18, 25-11. Addison Brown played a great defensive game with 25 digs and had two assists with two aces. Malory Holdman put together a double-double with 18 assists and 10 digs and Hailee Parrott Curtis led the front row with 15 kills. The Lady Mustangs (17-13) stay tied in second place of District 3-5A at 5-1. Caprock (11-12) is now 1-6 in district.
Palo Duro earned its first District 3-5A win of the year beating Lubbock High in four sets Tuesday, 25-17, 24-26, 25-19, 25-19. Trinady Davis paced Palo Duro with 13 kills and 10 digs for a double-double. Terri Rukundo fed the ball to the hitters with 21 assists and Draylee Phillips totaled 13 digs. LHS was led by Addisyn Moser’s six kills and four digs. The Lady Dons (7-15) are now 1-15 in district play while LHS (5-25) fall to 1-5.
District 4-4A
There weren’t many surprises in District 4-4A as the usual suspects came away with wins.
West Plains went to Hereford and took home a four-set victory, 23-25, 25-10, 25-22, 26-24. The Lady Wolves are now 21-9 overall and 3-0 in District 4-4A. Hereford now sits at 1-2 in the league and 13-13 overall. Aaniyah Kitchen was a menace at the net with 14 kills and nine blocks. Kynzie Ward and Sydney Garza also had 14 kills on a big offensive night for the Lady Wolves. Idaly Sotelo was stellar defensively with 46 digs and Celia Murillo handed out 29 assists. Hereford’s Lilly Madrigal led the way with 22 assists and nine digs.
Randall downed Dumas getting a home sweep, 25-21, 25-20, 26-24, on Tuesday night. The Lady Raiders (17-12) kept pace with West Plains at 3-0 in District 4-4A. Kambree Gonzalez hit the floor for 11 digs for Randall with five aces. Teammate Nevaeh Connor added 14 digs and Chloe Brown powered down nine kills. The Demonettes saw Sophie Clements come home with a double-double tallying 133 digs and 10 assists.
Canyon also stayed unbeaten in District 4-4A making a long trip to Perryton well worth it by the way of a, 25-20, 25-11, 25-9, sweep. The Lady Eagles (13-12) are tied with West Plains and Randall at 3-0 in the league. Perryton (7-14) is still looking for a district win dropping to 0-3. Laney Jones had 12 kills for Canyon with Neelie Henson adding 12 kills. Brylee McElroy and London Gibson combined for 26 assists.
Pampa brought home its first win of the district season beating Borger, 25-23, 25-13, 25-21, on Tuesday. Addi Bagwell totaled a double-double for the Lady Harvesters with 18 digs and 12 assists. Myla Zarate hit the floor for 14 digs and Jolie Groomer chipped in 13 digs. Madi Barton was key as well with 10 assists and four aces. Pampa (15-8) is sitting at 1-2 in District 4-4A. Borger (9-14) is currently 0-3.
Tuesday’s quick hits
Lubbock-Cooper Liberty stayed in total control of District 5-4A cruising by Big Spring, 25-4, 25-7, 25-8. The Lady Patriots are now an impressive 29-2 overall and 3-0 in league play. Big Spring falls to 6-12 overall and 1-1 in district. Jacelyn Gestes had 26 assists for Liberty and Madison Heider led the team with six aces.
San Jacinto Christian Academy remained perfect in TAPPS 1-2A knocking off Lubbock Kingdom Prep, 25-14, 21-25, 25-17, 25-14. Alayna Daniel was a big reason why going for 16 kills and 14 digs for a double-double. Blayne Robison was stellar in her passing with 38 assists and Channing Starr had three blocks. The Lady Patriots move to 3-0 in district and 22-3 overall.
Ascension Academy won its first district match beating Holy Cross Catholic Academy 22-25, 25-23, 25-19, 25-14. The Lady Cardinals also get their first win of the 2025 season improving to 1-5 overall and 1-2 in TAPPS District 1-2A. The Lady Mustangs drop to 1-14, 0-3.
In non-district games, Shallowater stayed hot defeating Midland Greenwood 25-15, 25-21, 27-25. The Fillies (21-8) were led by Emma Clawson’s 13 kills and Aniston VanAtta’s 14 assists.
River Road defended its home court in a sweep of West Texas High 25-15, 25-22, 25-19. The Lady Wildcats push their record to 18-10 on the year. Molly Mayes had a big night with 16 assists and five aces. Molly’s big sister, Hailey, had 15 digs and Kymbre Landis added 13 digs and two aces.
Vega swept Childress in a non-district match Tuesday, 25-15, 25-21, 25-15. The Lady Longhorns improve to 13-16 on the season thanks to the victory. Khloe Griffitt did it all with eight digs, seven kills and four blocks. Teammate Tayson Schenk added seven kills with five blocks.
Tulia beat Highland Park 19-25, 25-23, 25-22, 25-22. Despite the loss, Highland Park’s Jade Flores led the hitting game with 11 kills. Haley Rogers dished out 17 assists for the Lady Hornets. Highland Park is now 10-15 overall.
