Game Day Rituals, Singing, and Forensics Dreams

Coach Vic has a couple of game day superstitions: finding a coin for luck and making sure her team is first on the field to warm up.

Off the field, she’s a talented singer—a hidden skill her players might not expect!

Pasta is her go-to pre-game meal, and if she weren’t coaching, she’d be pursuing a career in forensics.

The best advice she’s received? “If your players don’t like you, they won’t play hard for you. Don’t apologize for being demanding.”

Her favorite sports movie is McFarland USA, and TikTok is her social media must-have. In her office, you’ll hear rap music fueling her prep and planning.

Coaching Philosophy: Always the Underdog

Coach Nunez’s biggest lesson from sports: when talent meets talent, it’s not enough—being a great teammate, consistent, and relentless is what sets the best apart.

Her motto: “Always have an underdog mentality, even when you’re not the underdog.”

She loves the Texas Panhandle’s sense of pride and competitive environment, and her goals for the season are to win a playoff game, improve their record, and build a true winning mentality.

Defense, Box Game Drills, and Community Dedication
