Randall hits century mark against Dumas

Randall picked up where it left off last year opening District 4-4A by making a statement under first-year head coach Trevor Johnson.

The fast-paced Raiders ran the floor and shot the ball extremely well which was a recipe for a lopsided 103-48 victory against Dumas at the Leslie Broadhurst Gym at the House of Doom on Tuesday night.

Randall is off to an 11-5 start to the year and more importantly 1-0 in District 4-4A.

The Raiders saw extremely balanced scoring with six players finishing in double-digits. Christian Smith paced all scorers with a game-high 20. Zach Shrubs scored 15, Jaxon Toniolli chipped 15, Tayesen Combs went for 13, Trevor Flow had 11 and Tim Perez tallied 10.

Spearman has no issues with Vega in district opener

Spearman went on the road and handled Vega in a District 1-2A opener 58-36 on Tuesday night.

The Lynx are now 15-2 overall and now 1-0 in district.

The Lynx had four players score in double figures. Hector Diaz lit up the Longhorns for a team-high 17 points. Teammate Ysrael Sanchez scored 12, Landon Sonnenberg had 10 as did Jailen Vasquez.

Tuesday’s top performers 

  • Canyon guard Jordan Webber was on fire scoring 30 points to soar the Eagles past Perryton 60-48.
  • Palo Duro’s Victor Juarez paced the Dons with 18 points in a hard fought 63-55 win over crosstown rival Caprock.
  • West Plains guard Ayden Larra finished with a team-high 22 points helping the Wolves to a 58-43 district opening win against Hereford.
  • Pampa’s Dalton Booth had a huge night lighting up Borger for 29 points to lift the Harvesters past the Bulldogs 71-25.
  • In his high school and varsity debut Gruver freshman Mason Lankford showed his potential throwing down a dunk on the second offensive possession while finishing with a game-high 23 points in a win against Sunray.
  • Rylee Buck of West Texas High poured in 23 points during a 69-20 win against Sanford-Fritch.
  • Collin Alston of McLean torched the Shamrock defense for 29 points as the Tigers cruised 75-59.
  • Lefors got a district victory by beating Hedley 46-35 with a big thanks coming to Shawn Longoria and his 21 points.
  • The versatile CJ Moore paced Happy to an 87-16 thumping of Lazbuddie posting a game-high 22 points.
  • Nazareth opened district play in a big way downing Hart 59-32. Kayle Rogers did the majority of the scoring for the Swifts with 16 points.
