District 4-4A

Hereford handles Borger

Hereford have put three straight wins together after going on the road and bullying the Borger Lady Bulldogs 25-13, 25-16, 25-20, on Saturday afternoon.

Lady Whiteface outside hitter Kyndal Blair was on fire throughout the sweep knocking down a game-high 23 kills. Teammate Allee Purcella added 11 kills, and London Baker did what she does best by passing around 36 assists.

Isabella Pena highlighted Borger with a double-double totaling 14 assists with 14 digs.

Hereford (16-15 overall) stays all alone in third place in District 4-4A at 7-2. Borger (15-17) falls to 1-8 in district.

West Plains downs Dumas

The West Plains Lady Wolves stayed in sole possession of second place of District 4-4A with a sweep of Dumas 25-19, 25-20, 25-12, on the road Saturday.

West Plains (32-7 overall) stays a game behind first-place Randall at 7-1 in District 4-4A. Dumas drops to 18-22 overall and 3-6 in the league.

The Lady Wolves used a solid performance from outside hitter Brooklyn Garcia, who powered down a team-high 12 kills. The defense was exceptional led by McCall Sims with 28 digs followed by AJ Norman, Emerson Castillo, Jayli Franklin and CC Murillo with eight a piece.

Castillo also had 18 assists with Murillo tallying 14 and Norman was amazing at the service line with six aces.

Canyon gets needed win at Perryton 

Canyon has given itself a little breathing room after sweeping Perryton on the road, 25-11, 25-11, 25-20.

The Lady Eagles (18-18 overall) improve to 5-4 in District 4-4A. Combine that victory with losses by Dumas and Pampa on Saturday, Canyon has now opened a two-game lead for the fourth and final playoff spot. Perryton is now 2-22-2 overall and 0-9 in district.

Cali McKinley and Sydnee Winfrey were strong at the net with nine kills apiece. Winfrey chipped in three blocks as well. Laney Jones went for eight assists and three aces and Alainna Bellino had a game-high 18 assists.

Randall stays perfect in 4-4A

The wins just keep on piling up for the No. 1-ranked Randall Lady Raiders who had no issues with Pampa in a 25-13, 25-18, 25-11, victory on Saturday afternoon.

Brooke Henderson showed her versatility with 11 digs, four kills, two aces with a block. Kandree Perez registered nine kills with a pair of blocks and aces. Kenna Miller played great defense with 19 kills, Jordyn Gove led the team with 20 kills and added nine digs while setter Sidney Soria passed out 40 assists with eight digs.

Despite the loss, Pampa setter Maecie Hawthorne earned a special milestone by going over 2,000 assists for her career.

Randall (33-3) is all alone in first place of District 4-4A and have won 25 straight district matches dating back to last season. Pampa (17-16) drops two games behind Canyon for the fourth and final playoff spot.

District 3-5A

Palo Duro nabs first district win 

The Palo Duro Lady Dons put it all together against rival Caprock to earn their first district win by beating the Lady Longhorns, 18-25, 27-25, 25-19, 25-22, at the CHS Activity Center on Saturday.

With the win, the Lady Dons (17-13-1 overall) have moved into a third-place tie with Caprock (19-14) at 1-3 in District 3-5A.

Erin Mims, Syvihanna Suttun and Aniyah Burley stepped up in a huge way for Palo Duro with all three players coming away with double-double efforts. Mims did it all with 26 digs, 14 kills and three aces. Sutton had 17 digs with 13 kills and Burley led the team with 20 assists and 20 digs. Payton Redar was also clutch with seven blocks and served up seven aces.

Adrienne Madrid played strong defense for Caprock with 22 digs and teammate Grace Morales went for 11 kills with nine digs.

Amarillo High pummels Plainview 

Amarillo High stayed in total control of District 3-5A by easing past Plainview on Friday afternoon, 25-9, 25-2, 25-14.

The Lady Sandies stay atop the district standings at 4-0 while getting their 30th win on the year moving to 30-5. Plainview (17-20) is 0-4 in the league.

Blair Pennington had a game-high 26 assists. Ryan Pennington knocked down eight kills with two blocks and Grace Hughes had 10 kills.

District 1-3A

Bushland soars past River Road

It doesn’t look like anyone is stopping Bushland anytime soon. River Road tried to stump the toe of the Lady Falcons at home Saturday, but were unsuccessful as Bushland soared to a 25-8, 25-9, 25-15.

Bushland pushes its immaculate district win streak to 85 straight games dating back to 2011. The Lady Falcons also move to 4-0 in 1-3A and 33-6 overall. River Road falls a game behind Dalhart for third place dropping to 1-3 in the league and 14-13 overall.

LillyAnn Shannon paced Bushland with seven kills and two blocks and Ambre Hatfield added five kills. Teammate Avery Ramos added 16 digs with a pair of aces.

River Road’s Reese DeHart had 14 assists and Haley Borrayo chipped in 10 kills.

Dalhart takes over third place by downing Dimmitt 

Dalhart made quick work of the Dimmitt Bobbies with three-set sweep, 25-7, 25-7, 25-10, on Saturday.

Kammi Maddox and Emily Gaines each had eight kills to lead the Lady Wolves. Jenna Pedraza was superb at the service line with six aces to go with nine assists and Elli Bezner dished out 14 assists with four aces.

Dalhart (18-10-1) moves a game ahead of River Road for third place of District 1-3A at 2-2. Dimmitt’s struggles continue dropping to 1-26 overall and 0-4 in district.

District 1-2A

Sanford-Fritch, West Texas High both win 

Sanford-Fritch and West Texas High each walked out of gyms with victories on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Eagles took down Vega in a very tough match, 25-18, 23-25, 27-25, 25-22. Avery Conner was stellar in the victory for Fritch blistering the Vega defense with 22 kills to go with six blocks. Saydee Williams was exceptional during her double-double effort with 22 digs and 15 kills, and Kinley Roberts led the offense with 26 assists.

Fritch remains all alone in first place of 1-2A at 5-0 and improves to 24-6 overall. Vega falls to 15-13 overall and 2-3 in the league.

WT High snapped a two-game losing streak with a sweep of Memphis, 25-15, 25-12, 25-12, on Saturday.

The Lady Comanches (13-18) move back into second place in district at 3-2. Memphis drops to 5-12, 0-5.

London Morrison was unbelievable for the Lady Comanches serving up an eye-opening 12 aces. Addison Lindley followed with nine aces and Sage Lay had seven kills.

District 1-1A

Miami rolls over Kelton 

Miami was won two straight district matches thanks to a sweep of Kelton on Saturday, 25-12, 25-13, 25-13.

The Lady Warriors (18-8) stay a game behind first-place Wildorado in District 1-1A at 2-1. Kelton falls to 9-12, 0-3.

Miami saw Mercedes Ewing put together another great outing. Ewing was unstoppable on offense with 23 kills and strong on defense with 10 digs for a double-double. Ewing also had five aces with two blocks. Teammate Bentley Brooks followed Ewing’s effort by leading the offense with 31 assists and 10 blocks on defense for a double-double of her own.
