Wildorado stays unbeaten in 1-1A

Wildorado kept its winning ways going with a dominating sweep over the Kelton Lady Lions at home on Tuesday night.

The Lady Mustangs are looking extremely strong through the first two games of District 1-1A as they swept Kelton 25-10, 25-17, 25-11.

Wildorado is off to a 2-0 start to district and 15-4 overall. The Lady Lions are now 9-10, 0-1.

The Lady Mustangs were dominant at the service line combining for 22 aces. Morgan Haschke had a team-high eight aces while Jovi Perkins and Eva Albracht each had seven. Perkins added 26 digs with three assists. Albracht tallied 19 digs and Haschke had 16 digs. Teammate Cacy Cornwell had a team-high 13 kills.

Neely Davis lifted Kelton with four assists and four digs with three blocks.

District 3-5A

Amarillo high pummels Palo Duro 

It was a quick night of work for Amarillo High as the Lady Sandies pushed their District 3-5A win streak to 31 straight matches after breezing past Palo Duro, 25-8, 25-9, 25-10, on Tuesday night.

Kennedi Payne and Ryan Pennington led the offense each totaling eight kills. Payne was also big at the net with seven blocks. Blair Pennington and Payton Cash moved the ball with Pennington finishing with a team-high 22 assists followed by Cash’s 13 and teammate Sienna Cavalier led the way with nine digs.

The Lady Sandies move to 2-0 in district and 28-5 overall. Palo Duro falls to 16-11-1, 0-1.

Tascosa takes down Caprock 

The Tascosa Lady Rebels kept pace with rival Amarillo High thanks to a 25-7, 25-8, 25-18, sweep of Caprock in a District 3-5A clash on Tuesday night.

The Lady Rebels are now 2-0 in District 3-5A with the win and 23-12 overall. The Lady Longhorns are still seeking their first league win falling to 0-2 in district and 18-13 overall.

Kassidy Langeland had a superb outing for Tascosa with 14 digs and two aces. Meredith Sanning dished out 29 assists and Gabbie Mason led the team with eight kills.

District 4-4A

Pampa rallies past Canyon in five

In arguably the game of the night, Pampa made a strong comeback to get past rival Canyon in a five-set thriller during a key District 4-4A matchup.

The Lady Harvesters were down 2-0 after the first two sets but made a furious rally over the last three sets to get the, 21-25, 23-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-13, victory in front of the home fans on Tuesday night.

Pampa stays hot notching its third straight win in district moving to 3-3 in the league and 17-13 overall. The loss for Canyon drops the Lady Eagles (16-17) into a fourth-place tie with the Lady Harvesters at 3-3.

Maecie Hawthorne was spectacular leading the charge for the Lady Harvesters as the junior setter passed around 32 assists and hit the floor for 25 digs for an amazing double-double performance. Teammate Mazi Smith and Jolie Groomer did their part on offense. Smith knocked down a team-high 20 kills with Groomer tacking on 16 and Carsyn Hunt led the team with 31 digs.

Pampa served the ball extremely with eight team aces and had seven team blocks.

Randall remains perfect in 4-4A

Another night came with another win for No. 1-ranked Randall which has still yet to lose a district match since dropping into Class 4A a year ago.

The Lady Raiders took care of a talented Hereford team at home on Tuesday to keep their winning ways going with a 27-25, 25-11, 25-10, sweep.

Randall runs its district win streak to 22 straight dating back to 2022 as the Lady Raiders improve to 6-0 in District 4-4A and earn their 30th win of the season at 30-3 overall. The Lady Whitefaces fall to 4-2 in district and 13-16 overall.

Outstanding outside hitter Jordyn Gove returned to the Randall lineup after missing Saturday’s game with an injury. Gove picked up where she left off all season with 21 kills and 11 digs for a double-double while finishing with four blocks. Teammate Sidney Soria passed out 36 assists with 10 digs for a double-double and added three kills with two blocks, and Brooke Henderson also put together her second straight double-double thanks to 18 digs with 11 kills.

Kyndal Blair did her best for Hereford with 11 kills and London Baker placed 15 assists.

West Plains rolls over Perryton 

West Plains stayed a game back of rival Randall making a long road trip worth it in a 25-14, 25-9, 25-13, sweep over Perryton on Tuesday.

The Lady Wolves offense was playing at a strong pace thanks to the passing of CC Murillo and Emerson Castillo who combined for 40 assists. Murillo had a team-best 23 assists with Castillo dishing out 17. Brooklyn Garcia, Adyson Simmons and Jayi Franklin benefited from the passing totaling 26 kills. Garci and Simmons each finished with nine and Franklin powered home eight kills. AJ Norman tallied a team-high 11 digs and Aaniyah Kitchen had four blocks.

West Plains is now 29-7 overall and 5-1 in District 4-4A. Perryton falls to 2-19-2, 0-6.

Dumas notches second straight win by beating Borger

Dumas dropped the first set to Borger but was able to regroup and storm back for a four-set victory on the road, 21-25, 25-21, 25-16, 25-20, on Tuesday night.

The Demonettes have won back-to-back District 4-4A games pushing their record to 2-4 in the league and 17-20 overall. The Lady Bulldogs struggles continue at 15-14 overall and 1-5 in district.

Rylee Schacher played a key role in the win for Dumas with 12 kills and six blocks. Sophie Clements registered a double-double with 17 assists to go with 14 digs and Ashley Suggs led the Demonettes with 25 digs.

Despite the loss, Borger’s Either Quinones tallied a double-double with 16 assists and 10 digs, as did Emilee Bridges with 12 digs and was amazing at the net with 10 blocks.

District 1-3A

River Road bounces back against Dimmitt 

River Road bounced back from a district opening loss to Dalhart on Saturday by handling Dimmitt at home with a 25-8, 25-19, 25-15, sweep on Tuesday night.

Ava Sharp was the story for the Lady Wildcats. Sharp put up an unbelievable service night with a career-high 15 aces to go with 11 digs for a double-double, and five kills.

Reese DeHart passed out 25 assists with six aces of her own with four kills. Teammate Heaven Hammett and Hailey Mills each had six digs.

River Road improves to 14-11 overall and 1-1 in District 1-3A. Dimmitt drops to 1-24 overall and 0-1 in district.

Friona defeats Dalhart 

Friona earned its first district with a sweep of Dalhart 29-27, 25-20, 25-21 at the Chieftain Gym on Tuesday.

Aubrey Bunker had 15 assists, teammate Reese Stowers had a team-high 14 kills and Jacee Burney added 13 assists.

The Squaws are now 23-8 overall and 1-1 in District 1-3A. The Lady Wolves fall to 16-9-1, 1-1.

District 1-2A

Sanford-Fritch gets big win over West Texas High

Sanford-Fritch took over sole possession of District 1-2A by going on the road and getting a convincing sweep of rival West Texas High, 25-19, 25-20, 25-20, sweep on Tuesday night.

The Lady Eagles are now all alone in first place at 2-0 in District 1-2A and 21-6 overall. The Lady Comanches fall to 2-1 in district and 12-17.

Sanford-Fritch was led by the outstanding effort from Emma Williams. Williams put together a double-double by working both her offense and her defense finishing the game with 20 digs and 10 kills. Avery Conner continued her strong season with a team-high 13 kills and Kinley Roberts placed 13 assists.

West Texas High’s Zoe Smith had 10 kills with Sage Lay knocking down nine kills.

Vega stuns Highland Park 

It was a huge night for the Vega Lady Longhorns who went on the road and left with a big time 25-10, 25-22, 25-13, victory at Highland Park on Tuesday night.

It’s the first league win on the year for Vega which improves to 1-2 in District 1-2A and 14-11 overall. The Lady Hornets are now 9-18 overall and 1-1 in district.

Jaz Martinez played a big part in the Vega victory with a game-high nine kills and 16 digs. Teammate Addi Bidegain had 18 assists with six digs and three aces, and Raelyn Calhoun did a little bit of everything with eight assists, seven kills with four aces.

Highland Park was led by Shemara Haynes’ eight digs. Tessica Deanda had seven digs with three kills.
