Dylan Ray and Braeden Massengale, Randall, RB-OL
The Randall Raiders dominated the trenches allowing the run game to chew up 344 yards during a 30-28 win at Wichita Falls High. Massengale led the strong offensive line performance that had 30 pancakes as a team. Massengale ended up with nine pancakes of his own. The offensive line’s effort allowed Ray to have another tremendous night as the speedster put up 185 yards on 17 carries with two touchdowns.
Camren Cavalier, Canadian, QB, Sr.
Cavalier was dazzling with both his arm and his feet during the No. 1-ranked Canadian Wildcats blowout win over Perryton 63-13 on Friday. The Rangers simply couldn’t defend the dual-threat QB. Through the air, Cavalier was 9-of-20 for 190 yards with four touchdowns. On the ground, Cavalier tallied another 188 yards with four more TDs. Cavalier finished his night combining for eight touchdowns with 378 yards of offense.
Armando Lujan, Sunray, QB, Jr.
The Sunray talented gunslinger put up monster numbers in a 65-0 thumping of West Texas High on Friday night. Lujan picked a part the Comanche secondary going 18-of-26 for 337 yards with seven touchdown passes to five different receivers. Lujan also ran for 133 yards with two scores. On the night, Lujan finished with 470 yards of offense on his own.
Greyson Hagar, Boys Ranch, DB, Sr.
The Boys Ranch Roughriders earned their first win of the year and made history in the process. Behind a stellar defensive effort in a 12-2 win at Morton, the Roughriders set a new Class 2A record for interceptions in a game with six. Hagar was part of that pick party nabbing an interception as well as making nine tackles on the night.
Kalub Ramirez, Hereford, QB, Soph.
Hereford pulled off its biggest win to date with a 26-14 victory against Class 5A Tascosa, despite the game being called midway through the third quarter due to inclement weather. After only one win a year ago, the Whitefaces are the story of 2023 as Hereford is off to a 4-0 start. Ramirez continues to help lead that charge with a solid outing against the Rebels going 12-of-22 for 209 yards with three touchdown passes.
Dawson Jaco, Bushland, QB, Sr.
Bushland bullied Borger 35-0 before the game was called due to inclement weather at halftime. However, looking at the stats, Jaco looked like he played a full game. The senior standout led the Falcons offense to 256 yards. Jaco was 11-of-17 for 141 yards passing and ran for three more scores on 37 yards rushing.
Briggs Satterfield, Gruver, QB, Soph.
Satterfield was in complete control of an offense that racked up 624 yards in a 61-36 win at Highland Park on Friday night. Satterfield totaled 304 yards of offense by rushing for 157 yards while throwing for 147 yards combining for five touchdowns.
Lyric Smith, Clarendon, RB, Sr.
Clarendon’s versatile senior did everything in his power to get the Broncos their first win of the year against Smyer, 64-24. Smith galloped all over the Bobcat defense for 226 yards with three touchdowns and caught three passes for 58 yards.
Braxton Allen, Shamrock, WR-DB, Sr.
Allen was a mismatch on both sides of the ball for Shamrock in a 42-32 shootout victory over Sanford-Fritch on Thursday night. On the offensive side of the ball, Allen snagged five catches for 144 yards with a pair of TDs. On defense, Allen racked up seven tackles with two sacks.
Pius Vokes, Amarillo High, RB, Sr.
Despite a heartbreaking 36-35 loss at the hands of Odessa High, it’s hard to ignore the performance from the Sandies senior. Vokes had a monster effort on the ground rushing for 276 yards on just 20 carries with three touchdowns.
