On the court: The Western Colorado commit is having a tremendous senior season guiding the Amarillo High Lady Sandies to a current 25-9 record and a 2-0 start to District 3-5A. Moffitt, a three-year starter had a superb week in sweeps of Dalhart and Caprock combining for 56 assists, 12 digs, six aces and three blocks. Thanks to this strong start to 2022 Moffitt has also surpassed the 2,500-assist mark for her career and has never lost a district game in her three years going 22-0 so far.

Coach Mike Moffitt: “The biggest thing I see this year is she is a lot more physical. She has great hands but to get her to play at that next level is we’re continuing to work on her offense and defense. She is digging and scoring herself which she has put a lot of time in. Over these three years I love how she’s grown in her leadership role as well. She leads by example with a quiet confidence that really helps her team. That has been fun to watch. She is extremely smart, and she is so creative in play calling and does a great job leading our defense.”

Moffitt: “I feel we are playing great right now and we want to get better every time we go out on the court. Personally, I feel I’ve improved on my defense and my serving is something I always work on. I’ve been working hard to score for myself more as well as set the hitters. But my main focus is to just be the best I can as a teammate, win district and hopefully make it to state.”
