Randall has made two wins in a row since its first district loss to Amarillo High last week. The Lady Raiders jumped on Tascosa for a 9-run fourth inning on the way to a 14-2 victory on Friday at Lady Rebel Park.

Randall stays a game back of AHS improving to 3-1 in District 3-5A and 15-10-1 overall.

Tascosa drops to 11-14, 1-3.

The Lady Raiders led 4-2 heading into the top of the fourth. Randall’s bats then exploded as

Hope Soria, Anberlin O’Dell, Desiree Hernandez, Brooke Alvarado, and Landri Holcomb all had RBIs during the big inning. Soria and Alvarado were both 3-for-3. Alvarado drove home two runs, Soria had one RBI on the day, and Hernandez went 2-for-4 with a homer and a pair of RBIs.

Amarillo High holds the outright District 3-5A lead after pummeling Palo Duro 21-0 on Friday. Pitchers Danae Lopez and Tatem Pendergraft combined on a five-inning no-hitter. Lopez tossed the first two innings racking up three strikeouts. Pendergraft worked the final three innings with four K’s to hold the Lady Dons (3-10-1, 0-4) without a hit.

Offensively, Pendergraft did damage at the plate as well going 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs.

AHS is 4-0 in district and 16-11-1 overall.

The Caprock Lady Longhorns went on the road and picked up a much needed win handing Plainview a 7-4 loss.

The Lady Longhorns (13-13) stay tied with Randall for second in District 3-5A at 3-1.

Leading 5-3 in the top of the sixth inning, Caprock got some much needed insurance when Kiera Chavez hit a solo homer giving the Lady Longhorns breathing room with a 6-3 advantage.

Chavez was 2-for-4 on the night, driving in two runs. Teammate Nayeli Garcia was also 2-for-4 with a homer, a double, and three RBIs.

District 1-3A

In the most eye-opening games of the weekend, River Road left favored Bushland flat out stunned with a 7-6 victory at the Lady Falcons Softball Complex on Saturday.

Bushland, which hasn’t lost a district game in over four years, had beaten River Road, Dalhart and Canadian through the first round of District 1-3A play by a combined 80-0 before this shocking defeat.

The eventual game-winning run came in the top of the seventh. With the game tied, 6-6, Carolyn Koval reached on an error after a ground ball to third that scored Shiyan Lozano putting River Road up 7-6. Koval was able to keep the Bushland bats in check pitching an amazing game against a lineup that had hit 44 homers coming into Saturday. Koval pitched a complete game, allowing three earned runs with five strikeouts, while limiting the Lady Falcons to one long ball. River Road was actually the ones going deep hitting three, 2-run homers off Bushland starter Jillian Howell. Koval hit a 2-run homer, followed by Lozano and Makanna Cooper.

The Lady Wildcats pull into a first place district tie with Bushland (20-8, 3-1) improving to 16-9-1 overall and 3-1 in league action.

Canadian won its first district game in two years getting an 11-10 walk-off single to beat Dalhart 11-10 in thrilling fashion at home Saturday.

First baseman Haleigh Thompson came up clutch with the game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh scoring Leah Moreno from second to give the Lady Cats the victory. The walk-off was a piece of a huge afternoon for Thompson, who went 5-for-5 at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs.

Canadian improves to 8-10 overall and 1-3 in District 1-3A. Dalhart falls to 4-13, 1-3.

District 4-4A

The Canyon Lady Eagles stayed hot going on the road to down Dumas 15-5 on Friday night.

Canyon’s Berkley Bradley was huge at the plate going a perfect 3-for-3 with a solo homer, a double, and driving in three runs. Kenah Cox also did damage with four RBIs on a 3-for-4 night that saw a homer and a double.

Canyon moves to 4-0 in District 4-4A and 16-9 overall. The Demonettes drop to 20-8, 2-2.

Pampa kept pace with Canyon beating Perryton 41-1 on Friday. Lady Harvester catcher Brianna Cloud was stellar with a 6-for-6 performance driving in six runs. Pampa (19-4-1) remains perfect in district at 4-0.

Hereford picked up its first District 4-4A win holding off Borger 5-4. The Lady Whitefaces (9-15-1) are now 1-3 in district. Aniah Mendoza drilled a 3-run homer to make a difference.
